Under the radar neighborhood bakery that wasn't even on Yelp when I tried it. Can totally understand why it's a favorite with locals, since the pastries are so good. A nice break from all the tourity stuff near the Red Light District.
Gevulde Koek: I think this is my new favorite Dutch pastry. A thin buttery pastry disk with a very hefty amount of sweet almond paste inside. I love how it's flaky then moist and gooey.
Kaas/Uien Kruier: Very cheesy. Very savory with the onion. Could almost be a lunch item with salad.
Saucijzen Broodje: The all important sausage roll is a great way to get a dose of protein with your flaky breakfast pastries. Love the nice meaty chew.
Donut: Kinda looks like a donut from the Simpons. And despite the bright pink color, it didn't taste fake, it actually tasted like real strawberry.
Room Croissant: A croissant cut in half lengthwise and stuffed with a nice custard. Way creamier than croissants which have filling baked into it. read more
