Called DC Garage Door Repair after a quick review on Yelp. With 5 stars, it was a good starting point. Spoke with Don, the owner, and stated my problem with my garage door bowing and sagging. It was later in the day and I wasn't expecting a response till the next day. Don stated that he had some time around 4p, which I gladly accepted. Upon arrival, Don and his son did a quick inspection of the garage door and determined that two support struts were needed to correct the sagging of the door. Excellent service! My torsion spring broke and requested a quote, a minutes later got a response with a quote to my satisfaction. Sent a mass quote to all garage repair service through YELP, and DCGD was the chosen to fix my springs. 2 hours later he was at my house. He even adjusted my Tension Control Monitor to my Jackshaft 8500 free of charge, and a free tune-up. Highly recommended! Had a great experience with DC Garage Doors. Our door has been sounding like it was trying to lift the entire house off the foundation and we couldn't figure out the issue. Also, it seems that the morning sun would interfere with our sensor, causing the door to not close most bright mornings. I finally took time to search on here for a repair service provider with good reviews and landed on DC. Spoke to Sheila on the phone and easily made an appointment for the next day for a free evaluation. Don showed up on time and gave us an honest diagnosis that would've basically cost us nothing or very little. We were so thankful for him not trying to up-sell us or scare us into a larger unnecessary repair or replacement (like the last repairman did about 6 months ago). However, after asking more questions about the condition of our equipment and realizing the spring was nearing or past the end of its life-expectancy, and due to the excellent price quote and what would be included, we did opt for replacing the spring. We brought this up, though, not him, as he was content at just doing the immediately necessary maintenance on what was actually causing our issues. He was done within an hour, and the entire system is whisper quiet now. He also replaced some of the sensor wire and made sure the alignment was true. He even checked our motor adjustments and cleaned the dust and spider webs off the unit. When you hear that 'shotgun blast" from your garage, you know the spring on the door has broken. That happened to me. I couldn't open the door myself. That was at 6 pm last evening.
