Hands down , this holiday inn beat out any Marriott I've stayed in.. and i travel a lot. ...it was the most sparkling clean holiday in I've ever seen... and like I said... more clean then any Marriott....and Mariott are mostly very clean!!! The room smelled fresh ... even behind the end tables were spotless... I had to unplug the clock for my charger so I totally saw how clean behind it was...I am such a hotel snob...I have major germ issues... I won't walk barefoot in even the most elite hotels... but I totally kicked off my socks here. The bathroom was stunning... cleanliness wise... we had an excellent view from the 4th floor of a thunder storm rolling thru..the hotel staff was very very friendly and kind. The parking was perfect... we had a huge truck and no problem parking. I got coffee downstairs in the morning and it was delicious... there was the kurig in the room also..but hands down... a special thank goes to the cleaning staff. They got it going on... The breakfast buffet was so much more than we expected with a ton of options, even for someone gluten intolerant. And when we discovered we'd forgotten a sentimental stuffed bunny in the room on checkout, they happily and carefully mailed it back to us immediately. The one big drawback was that the hotel lobby and hallways were overwhelmingly scented. I lost my voice due to allergies anytime I spent more than a passing moment in the lobby. If you've got severe scent allergies, I'd avoid or make sure you've got a good filter mask.

Compared to the hotels at the same price point (Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, etc...), I've been finding more issues at some of my Best Western stays elsewhere. I was up here for work and my preferred business travel hotels don't have locations up here, so this was the choice for convenience. It's quite clean and there's lots of parking. Seems to cater to a lot of the pipeline guys who come up here for work. Restaurant attached with meeting rooms available. Complimentary breakfast in the lobby available. Good breakfast choices including fruit yogurt, waffle maker, cereals, breads and pastries. The rooms are quite quiet and beds are comfortable. Heating system works well (thankfully!) but is quite loud. It's nice to have an extra sink, microwave and mini fridge in the room. Bathrooms are clean and basic. Toiletries provided but basic. Wi-fi signal in the room was terrible... Could not get a connection in most parts of the room - basically I could only pick it up when sitting in front of the fridge. TV is the old fashioned tube/box type with limited options. I like the 'clean' remotes they provide though... Totally helps with my germ phobia! Smooth check in and out. Lobby area is bright and open. It's one of the better Best Westerns that I've been to in the last couple of years. Nothing luxurious, but good value for the money.

When I checked in, I realized that I had booked the room for two nights instead of the intended one night. This was a lesson learned; I usually make a habit of double-checking and triple-checking, but I overlooked it this time. Unfortunately, I was informed that I couldn't change my reservation and would lose my payment of $324.40, which means I wouldn't receive a refund. I tried to reason with the front desk lady, but she simply told me, "Sorry about your luck." I then called Booking.com at their 1-800 number and received the same response. After that, I called the 1-800 number for the property and heard the same thing again. This situation has left me with about $150.00 out of pocket. Do you have any advice on how I might be able to get some money back?

I asked the woman on desk duty why we were at the Travel Lodge and NOT The Inn on the Creek and she said they used to run the Inn but moved over to the Travel Lodge 6 months ago. So we never stayed or ate at the Inn. Our rooms was in the Travel Lodge. It was clean and acceptable and the breakfast was in an adjacent restaurant called SAM'S. You took a certificate to Sams and ordered an excellent breakfast which totally redeemed the place. I would give the Travel Lodge a 4 star rating and Sams a five. But because we never saw or used the Inn on the Creek I can't rate it or confirm that it even exists but the listing is totally wrong.

What stood out the most about this property was the service! The front desk attendant greeted us warmly and checked us in promptly. The restaurant was super busy but got us a snack to go quickly. When we got back to the room, the night desk attendant quickly remedied our problem with the room being too warm, came up and adjusted the thermostat and brought us a fan. The next morning we had an awesome continental breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast, all freshly made. Overall our stay was wonderful. I would stay here again!
