Excellent food (including gluten free options!), service, and ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant. My family is half gluten free (Celiac) and it can be tricky to find options that everyone likes while traveling. By chance, we found Dawit and were thrilled with how accommodating our waitress was. She spoke 3 languages well and understood our dietary needs. My child ordered a basic grilled cheese that was not on the menu and I had the Spanish salad. We had pastries and cookies for dessert that were gluten free and wrapped and stored separately from the other desserts. Finally, the restrooms were the nicest I have found in Europe; everything clean, automatic, and beautiful. Such a gem and worth the trip! read more

Stopped on a Sunday for early supper they understood when I showed them a card regarding my wife's gluten allergy. Excellent wine, antipasto and meats. They brought gluten free bread for my wife but explained the often bake a gluten free cake but not Sundays. I had trouble picking from their beautiful desserts but did pick the most delicious chocolate cake. We had a great cold supper and it is a must stop in Tarvisio, even just for coffee, wine or dessert. read more

Established in 1957.

Dawit è un'azienda familiare fondata da Maria e Arcangelo Plazzotta nel 1957. Aperto inizialmente come bar, nel corso degli anni è stato progressivamente ampliato a negozio di alimentari e souvenir, tavola fredda e stazione di servizio, diventando un autentico riferimento nella preparazione della tradizionale merenda tarvisiana: la "Tarviser Jause". Dopo una profonda ristrutturazione, Dawit ha riaperto le sue porte nell'aprile del 2010 con un'immagine e uno spirito rinnovati, alla guida della maggiore delle figlie di Maria e Arcangelo, Benvenuta, che ha saputo reinventare l'attività familiare integrando in un'unica proposta, caffetteria, enoteca, angolo gourmet e gift shop.
