The bread was a bit saltier and had a nice, chewy "bite" to it. At this Boulangerie I sampled a cream-filled croissant and it was super tasty. The cream was a bit "off" but I'm not sure if that's just a Corsican thing (other creams in the pastries from other bakeries in town also had the same strange taste, but now that I'm back in the U.S. I'm having nightmares about the cream puff scene in "Van Wilder"). This place is worth a stop if your sweet tooth is raging, but be warned: the employees here were NOT friendly at all. Not only aloof, but pretty rude. That seemed to be the norm in Corsica.

This bakery/sandwich shop is 1) right next door to a hotel that most unfortunately does not have…read moreits own restaurant and 2) mercifully open when everything else nearby is closed so it earns 3 stars for my stomach's undying gratitude alone. The fare is pretty good - there's no way to sample ALL the fare but the sweets are very tasty. The savory stuff .... eh. One night I ordered a quiche which was decent but tepid, and the next night I ordered a squash-based sandwich that was not very good at all. The major downside about this place though is that Corsica has a lot of flies. And this place is a bakery. I'll let you use your imagination re where I'm going with that but there were a few things that looked tasty, but no way was I going to order.
