Hey I've been with this company for a year now and ALL the staff and directors are absolutely phenomenal. i can really trust them with the care of my son and don't have to worry about if they missed my son meal (which happen in another daycare same company tho and twice ...too many). We moved our 4-yo toddler here from another daycare and it was a seamless transition, all thanks in part to the staff. Our LO loved going there and really cared about the teachers and the other students and I felt she was loved in return by the staff. We had a great few months here! read more

Quick Read: This center is in a very bad place right now, if you have any other child care options, I would pursue them. Long Read: We started in the infant room and had a magical experience with the teachers there. My son was loved and nurtured and I can not say enough good things about that experience. Once he went into the toddler room, it was very different. There was much less structure and they were not very good at communicating what they were doing during the day. However, the teachers were nice, and our son was with his friends, so we stayed. Then the management issues started. Teachers started leaving in droves and this Kindercare location started cutting their hours. For example, they randomly closed for a whole week and then decided to only open three rotating days a week. It became a scheduling hell trying to find back-up care for different days every week and we were told that this would be for the foreseeable future. All the parents scrambled to find other centers that would take their children, we had to hire a flexible nanny, and none of the teachers that we started with are left. It was a shame to watch this center crumble so quickly. We are now at the Bright Horizons and it is shocking how organized and well-run they are by comparison. The teachers are also so engaged and happy. I feel guilty for keeping my son at such a toxic daycare for so long. If I had realized how little we were getting for our money, I would have left 6 months ago. When I spoke to the District Leader at KinderCare she focused on defending her hiring decisions and blaming the teachers instead of the fact that they couldn't stay open 5 days a week during regular business hours. There are obviously some major issues with the KinderCare leadership and structure. I hope this helps other families make an informed decision and hopefully saves them from the stress, uncertainty, and unnecessary internal strife that we have put up with this year. read more

We started here back in 2014 and have seen at least 5 different directors. I used to recommend it as great for infants, OK for toddlers, and definitely leave by preschool (there is a lot of turnover in the Multi-Age room and the teachers I saw just didn't understand classroom management). But now it's gone downhill very quickly and we had to pull our baby for fear that she was in an unsafe situation. The current director appears to be a terrible manager - the staff has quit in droves, including very long term beloved infant teachers. The director trained 3 new teachers without any help from veteran teachers (on purpose and for petty reasons as far as the parents can discern). The day of the training, multiple little babies had missed bottles and missed diaper changes. Parents were greeted with screaming babies and told that "she's really fussy!" when the issue was the baby hadn't been fed for five hours. After that we pulled our child immediately. We have been there for five years and have never seen anything like this. Staff in all the rooms are leaving. It's not clear that they are maintaining the ratios or actually have licensed teachers taking care of the children since they are in such a crunch. The parents have been in touch with management all the way up the chain at KinderCare but it's not at all clear that they are taking this seriously. I am sad to see a place that I trusted with my babies go downhill so quickly. I hope they can turn things around but they need a good director who will stay for more than a year and who actually treats the teachers kindly. read more

My son will be 2 yrs old in March and he's been going to KinderCare since he was 6/7 months old. My experience with this daycare has been nothing but positive. He is well cared for and is frequently smiling/happy when I pick him up at the end of the day and as a parent that is a great feeling. One of my favorite pros about KinderCare is the technology. I'm able to see what's going on daily with pics and cute videos of my little guy having fun and learning. The environment is safe, wonderful, caring and naturing. The teachers/staff are well versed and supportive. I highly recommend this daycare. read more

Davis Square KinderCare was an excellent choice for our family when deciding on care for our daughter. The teachers are very knowledgeable about early childhood development, and the center leadership is reliable, transparent, and professional. The staff gets to know the unique needs, likes, and dislikes of each child in their care. As a parent, I really felt like the teachers were partners in my child's development and wellness. I'm in disbelief that this center is still open given the number of complaints I'm aware that have been filed with both the EEC and DCFS in the last month. We had our 5 month old daughter enrolled here for all of 2 months before needing to pull her for a situation we observed that bordered on unsafe care of infants. The Director at the Center was newly installed as of this winter and as with any change to management at a group center we expected some staff turnover and were willing to accept a period of instability as new staff was trained. However, how management (the center director and regional director) handled this transitional period was incompetence that bordered on negligence. Leading up to us leaving this center we (myself and a number of other parents) had voiced our concerns over the lack of communication on staffing changes, lack of introduction to new teachers, or plans for how they would manage the continued turnover. My understanding is that many of the rooms are out of ratio several times a week, and the center director will often join one of the rooms to help meet ratio, but each time I've witnessed this she is sitting in the corner on her laptop without providing any meaningful support to a room full of new teachers. We ultimately decided to pull our daughter after picking her up to discover she had gone unfed for 6 hours, had had only 2 diaper changes in a 10-hour period, and when I walked into the infant room and wasn't immediately able to locate her, I was met with puzzled looks from the teachers as if they weren't sure who or where she was. I found her inconsolable in the crib area, only partially dressed. On that day alone I believe 5 families withdrew their kids, without any immediate backup for childcare lined up, and more have since left as the inadequate level of care continues. To my dissapointment, instead of actively managing the situation, the Regional Director began offering to help find other centers for families who said they'd be leaving. It was then that I realized that at a location as busy as Davis Square, KC wasn't concerned about us or our children, as after we left they'd easily replace us with another family who was none the wiser about the poor level of care provided to their children. read more

My daughter is almost two now and this daycare has been absolutely phenomenal. I am really doubting reviews but "David M." and "Julia N." are from someone who actually had their child in that daycare. My daughter is excited every day to go there. Merely a mention of her going to see her friends gets her jumping. Kids are truly enriched there and you can see it in their eyes (and stains from paint :-) ) they had fun. And frankly it is an absolute insult to see those two reviews below to the staff at the center. Ms. Charmaine, Ms. Joyce, Ms. Rosa (and I could go on) taught me so much. Being new father is not easy. You really don't know much. They always make sure to explain what it normal and what I should be concerned about. Another great thing about this daycare is that Harvard Vanguard pediatricians are in the same building. We will have been at KinderCare for over 2 years (infant through toddler 2) and overall have had a very good experience. There has been turnover throughout, but I think things are becoming smoother. Overall, teachers have been great, and, most importantly, my child has been happy! I know there are some complaints on here, but I'd encourage families looking for childcare to visit the center, as many families have been at the center for multiple years and have had a good experience. read more

I initially thought that a center that is part of a long standing chain and also has a huge price tag would be awesome. Wrong. I will start by saying that I have been in the early child field for almost 20 years. I know kids. I recently toured and sat in a classroom for about 15-20 minutes. The first thing that struck me was how small the toddler classroom was. I prefer the chickens who produce my eggs have more space to roam. I don't even understand how it's not breaking some kind of regulation. The kids were finishing their morning snack and the teachers explained that every once in awhile a "special treat" is provided. They were serving french toast sticks that were clearly frozen. If i'm paying $30K per year, at least give me child nutritious snacks. The website talks about a rich play environment. Perhaps that is also a "special treat" because there were few toys out and multiple toys were broken. Are you kidding me?! Also, there were NO books accessible to the kids. They announced it was circle time and instructed the kids to sit. A teacher started reading a Curious George book. Completely inappropriate for this age group and (big surprise) the kids didn't stay seated. There was no opening song to alert the children that a change in what was happening in the classroom was starting. This is BASIC KNOWLEDGE of anyone working with young children. As far as the beautiful crafts that come home, it's an assembly line style show. A child is plopped in a chair, hands painted by a teacher and pushed onto a piece of paper. That's it. No creativity and exploration. I should also add that one of the administrators was in the room during all of this with me. There was no level of concern on her part. This is a great daycare. My daughter has been in their infant 2 room since she was 10 weeks old and she loves it. The center is clean and bright and they do so many activities with the babies which I love. Everyday she is painting, drumming, or feeling different textures. All of her care givers are great. A big thanks to Bryanna, Joyce, Naomi, and Juanita. I get a daily report of all her activity at the end of the day and they work on her developmental milestones as well. I visited over a dozen daycares in the area and kindercare is by far one of the best. The hours and location are great for working parents too. read more

We were fortunate enough to start our daughter at Kindercare Davis Square in July 2018 in the infants room. They have been an incredible support for us as new parents and she has thrived there with teachers who genuinely care and help her develop socially, emotionally and academically. Everyday there are actives and routines which challenge her in a comfortable environment. We get to chat with her teachers at drop off, pickup and always feel really involved in her school life. We love the new app and I'm addicted to checking it throughout the workday for new pictures from her day (out for a walk with her friends, painting the sky as part of a lesson module, playing instruments) and updates about whether she liked her lunch, how she napped and it also gives me a heads up about whether she needs more diapers or such. Our son just started attending infants in February of 2020 and it's been a huge relief even as second time parents to have their advice and to know that his days are full of fun activities with friends, opportunities to grow and all in the care of people we trust. We are so thankful for everything that we got as a family when we walked through the doors to take her to her first day of school! read more

As a disclaimer, I do not and have not ever sent my child to this daycare center, I have only taken a tour. That said, I would not ever send my child to this center. When I took the tour of the infant room, one caregiver was feeding a child who must have been about 5 months old. The child was strapped into a bouncy chair while the caregiver held the bottle to the child's mouth. The caregiver wasn't watching though, so as the baby was trying to eat, the bottle kept tilting down so that the baby would suck air. She would then cough and try to eat again, only to suck more air. The caregiver only ever briefly glanced at the child and when the bottle was empty, she got up to perform some other task. The child was not held or cuddled at all while being fed or even given the respect of being sure that the bottle was held properly. Perhaps I caught this caregiver on a bad day, but I won't be taking my child there to find out. read more
