This was a bad visit. I made an appt. 2 weeks in advance to try a shop close to my home. Arrived on time after work. Waited ten minutes asked how much longer Lady was snide rude told me to go do what I needed and come back. I stated if I leave I will not be returning. He and my tech spoke Vietnamese about me laughing and looking. Started my fill 20 minutes late. Asked to clip my cuticles he told me he does not have time they are too busy. Sat afternoon with total of 4 people in shop. I will never return here. I passed 25 shops to come close to my home and was treated disgustingly. Also they offer no designs foil chrome hand painting. Nothing !! He told me we do PLAIN ONLY. PICK YOUR COLOR. This place caters to the regular dry same nail every 2 week 40+ Karen and I do not see how they will be able to afford their rent much longer. read more

STAY AWAY! When the nail tech started my pedi, I immediately noticed she was extremely rough and racing through the steps. When it came time to remove my calluses, she was using a steel foot file (cheese grater) to remove the dead skin and was scraping way too fast and cut a chunk out of my toe. She then pour some sort of alcohol based solution on it and squeezed my toe so hard that I literally screamed out in pain. It bled for the entire duration of my pedicure and ruined the whole experience. She never once apologized. When I asked if I had to pay for the pedicure, they tried to only offer me 5% off and were extremely rude/ unapologetic. It ended in an argument and ultimately me refusing to pay. I understand things / accidents happen but this could've been avoided. She was rushing (probably because it was close to closing time) and the attitude they gave me was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I will never step foot in this place again. read more

Then to top it off my sister in law who is battling breast cancer went into the shop and explained that this was unacceptable and they said it was her nieces fault and laughed at her? i went in for a full set and kindly asked if she could not use a drill on my natural nail. what i thought was a simple request of preference turned into a deal breaker. she told me she couldn't do my nails unless she drilled them. i asked if she could use a nail file instead because i do understand the purpose and she said no so i left. if you care about the overall health i would advise going elsewhere. i'm very disappointed as i've been hoping this would become my go to as it's close to my house but oh well. read more

The lady didn't do a bad job, however she did give me almond when I asked for oval shape/ but I guess some people get those confused. They looked ok however she was very irritated with me when I asked about prices and when I decided I wanted a different color (before she started). I asked my hands and then when I pulled my hair behind my ear she huffed and told me to wash again I can't touch my hair. She also started doing someone else's nails while she made me wash my hands twice and then I had to wait. Like I said my nails don't look bad, but getting your nails done is a spa service, it should be enjoyable and this lady made it seem very tense for no reason. I made an appt for a pedi, acrylic fill- nail repair and eyebrow wax. I have always had to wait even with an appt so was prepared. I sat in the waiting area 20 minutes, she took me back for my pedi- I sat there an HOUR - I had to take my feet out of the water because it got cold. When she finally came she asked why I didn't have my feet in- I said well I sat over an hour and it got cold. She and the three nail techs in the room began laughing loudly and speaking in a different language. She asked what pedi I wanted, I told her then she said she didn't think she would have enough time- got up, came back and said she would. She rushed through it. I was supposed to get a 15 minute massage- it was three, yes I did time it at this point because there was nothing relaxing about it. She cut my toenails so short they hurt, the polish was bubbling and I have a bruise on my foot from her. She said she had to rush to get to the next client and wouldn't have time for my nails or eyebrows. When I went to check out, he tried charging for the nails and eyebrows. The owner came over yelling at me that it was my fault my nails didn't get done and I didn't wait an hour for my pedi- but even if I did an appt is only a recommendation it doesn't mean I'll be seen on time. She continued yelling at me - no apology or any accountability- and they charged almost double what I normally pay for a pedi. What was supposed to be a relaxing evening turned into a painful headache with a painful cut and shameful polish job. read more

I started out liking this salon but noticed over time they were cutting corners during gel manicure to get you out faster. The guy who did my nails did not leave them under the light long enough to dry fully before putting on the next coat of gel polish. Within 2 days the top layer peeled off to reveal a still sticky, tacky under coat of gel polish. AWFUL. They also apparently don't have a no cell phone policy in the pedicure area. The last time I was there, a young girl talked on her cell phone the ENTIRE time I was getting my pedicure and it was so annoying. I paid $100 to go and relax and I had to listen to her teenage jibber jabber about what party she went to, what party she was going to, what guy talked to her...omg, I was about to scream. read more

There's not many top-notch places in La Plata (salons, restaurants, shops, etc.) they are all kind of generic but I've had great success with Davis nails! Got my nails done elsewhere in la plata and it was the worst gel manicure of my life. Davis nails is a hidden gem, i love their pedicures and they have tons of options. I always get the parafin wax and scrub pedicure and it's amazing. They also do great gel nails! read more

New to La Plata, and needed a new nail salon to come to and to bring my daughter. Found Davis Nails off of Crain Hwy next to Outback Steakhouse. Owner/staff not friendly. Rushes your service. They have no clue of what customer service is. If it wasn't for us none of these nail salons would be in business. Never once did any of the employees welcome us to the salon. The owner asked what shape did I want my nails, and when I chose the almond shape she said "it's and extra $5". What in the world! First time I've ever been told that. And, if it was going to be an extra charge then you should let your customer know this beforehand, not after you have already cut the nail into that shape. Another customer who was also in the salon experienced the same treatment. She too was upset and shared her concerns with the staff. If you are looking for a place in La Plata to get your nails done, do not chose Davis Nails. Customers should be appreciated and thanked for their patronage. read more

I posted also on Google reviews. Jackie is her name. She was fast I will give her that. But the positivity ends there . I got there, not a single customer or coworker . That's good for me but I see why. It's odd no one was there 3 days before a holiday, ESPECIALLY inside a WALMART!! Her attitude started off ok but she don't follow simple directions and tried to tell me some wrong information about my nails and what I need to do, instead of what I wanted. ***Plot twist, I been licensed since 1996*** Then she was rude, filing too hard, pulling my hands instead of just opening her mouth to come closer. I see no regular polish just gel, but glad I brought my own. I was supposed to get 2 services but she won't get all this money. Plus the pedi area looks skeptical. I had a tip for her because I work in service so I'm always prepared to give one. But she didn't earn it. Didn't even say thank you or goodbye. Just painted nails and walked away to go play on her computer. So yup, I kept it. Her business should be booming but I see the problem why the shop is empty. Went to Davis Nails to get a new pedicure and gel set with acrylic overlay for the FIRST TIME. At the time there was 1 customer getting their nails painted & 2 finishing a pedicure. I arrived at 6 pm sharp. 2 hours prior to close. I was told someone would assist me shortly. 30 minutes passed and I'm assisted. I move to the pedicure area and begin with a foot soak. I requested my prior gel be removed and acrylic removed. 35 minutes into my pedicure and soak off I am told I will need to select a new pedicure service to accommodate the nail tech that will be completing my gel set. I was told specifically to change my services or I could get serviced elsewhere. 7:08 over an hour later I was told by a staff member that they were closing shortly and to decide what I wanted to be done. After waiting 30 minutes, being told to readjust my service needs & to utilize another nail company I would honestly suggest doing business elsewhere. Other customers were in and out on time and greeted properly, not rushed. I told the staff member I'd prefer to have all services done at one time like my original request when I walked in. Feet were being soaked & polish removed to do the same to my nails. I was then told that they could accommodate me this one time & declined. I have now observed since returning home that my big toes was drilled down extremely too low now leaving extreme sensitivity and skin showing between my toenail layer. PLEASE PLEASE Go Elsewhere. With all this being said. I was only offered a "Sorry" & I will indeed be returning tomorrow to address the toenail drilling and severe sensitivity. read more

Weird. I'm pretty sure the young guy that did my nails is not a licensed tech. When I asked him if he was licensed, he didn't answer. He used NO cuticle remover on my nails. He placed a dish with warm water for me to soak my nails, without a softener. He also did my pedi, without putting softener in the water. Never again. read more

I followed her from one shop to this one. we usually text to schedule my appointments. she over booked my appointment and scheduled with a white woman for the same time. She refused to accommodate me instead was more interested in making her happy opposed to fixing the problem she created by accommodating both of us. Not one, not two, not three, but FOUR white women came into the spa after me and were taken IMMEDIATELY. I was not acknowledged at all. There was a younger white woman who had been waiting longer than me, the workers did ask her if it was okay for the last two women to be taken before her. But NO ONE ASKED ME if it was okay or even so much as acknowledged my presence. I left immediately, because I am no going to beg anyone to take my money who does not respect me. No one even acknowledged that I was leaving. I was completely invisible and nonexistent to them. If you are black please know they do not want your money. I walked away disappointed and with nails that aren't what I asked for. I called two days later and was told the price of a full set with gel polish cost $35.
