I saw Dr Allen after waking up the previous day with persistent pain, swelling, redness, and warmth…read morearound the Achilles tendon that had become almost unbearable to put weight on. I was already in tears, his exam caused me to wince in pain, he immediately said "I see this all the time and there is no way you could be in that much pain." Smirkingly he asked me "why did you even come here, what do you want?" I just wanted relief. He told me to wear a boot and take an anti inflammatory. I agreed, as I went to get up, he says, "what's wrong, you don't seem satisfied with my recommendations." I disagreed through tears of humiliation by the way he spoke to me in such a demeaning manner, apologizing for wasting his time. Now others in the clinic were aware of his increasingly boisterous behavior. when the exam room door was opened he proceeded to announce that "he just wasn't sure if I had some kind of mental issues or something causing my exaggeration of the pain." Working in the medical field for almost 20 years and I've never been more embarrassed by a physicians behavior
