I would recommend using another appraiser if possible. I unfortunately didn't have a choice as this was who the VA appointed after we paid for an appraisal. Randy Davis is unprofessional and likely one of the rudest people I've ever met. Our first encounter was when he was a no show to the originally scheduled appraisal. After waiting over an hour past the scheduled meeting time, I was finally able to contact him only to find out he was at another location, completing a different appraisal and would not be coming. In the next couple of days, Mr. Davis called me multiple times. Each of those calls resulting in me having to listen to him unprofessionally rant about the scheduling error, listen to him throw his assistant under the bus, and blame everyone else for the "communication error". Appraisal appointment number two. I thought he forgot us again because he was late. I was able to talk to him on the phone 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, he assured me he was on his way and he finally showed up 50 minutes late. I was extremely disappointed with his treatment of the home owners. The gentleman, only a few years older than Mr. Davis himself, has a medical condition that results in slower response time. Mr. Davis was impatient and never allowed the owner to answer any questions directed at him, spoke condescendingly towards him, apparently assumed he was deaf and made sure he very loudly spoke at him, and was generally just rude to the gentleman's wife. Finally, the appraisal was complete & we had to make 2 necessary repairs. A third set of repairs was waived by the VA because they deemed it a cosmetic issue. Once repairs were completed, Randy Davis was to come back out to ensure completion (and I would get to pay more money to tolerate his unprofessionalism). I had put in a request several times to the VA to have someone other than him come to my house but was informed that wasn't possible. Repairs were completed, and Mr. Davis's secretary called me and scheduled an appointment for the following afternoon. 2 hours later I received a phone call from a very irate and ignorant Mr. Davis with him screaming, yelling, and swearing at me. I did tell him he was very unprofessional but that didn't deter him from more yelling, screaming, and swearing. After a few minutes of being verbally assaulted and harassed, I finally had it, told him we were done and ended the conversation. I spoke to the VA regarding this ridiculous show of immaturity and unprofessionalism. Thankfully they told me to cancel the appointment and I was not required to have him return to the house. I can say with certainty I will never ever do business with Randy Davis again. read more
