We have used this insurance for years and not had to file a claim. I feel SO sorry for anyone who…read morehas had to file a claim under monte eastin and his company if their experience was anything like ours. In April I called and asked for insurance cards so that I could go license our vehicles. The front office lady looked up my policy and said she would send them to me. She sent me active insurance policies, cool, go to the dmv and license the vehicles. Fast forward two weeks and my husband's truck started on fire and burnt beyond reasonable repair. Well come to find out our insurance has not been active since March!!! They knew this when they sent us active insurance policies 2 weeks prior. So now we are being told that our insurance was not active so they were not going to cover the claim. Turns out monte admitted to sending out active policy cards from his office for an inactive policy. So his errors and emissions personal insurance has to pay the truck claim. Cool, we are covered now. The police estimated the truck at $28,000 the night of the fire and we know Kelly blue book is $17,000+ well now American family insurance only wants to pay us $12,000 for a truck bc they said they don't have pictures of the truck because it was burnt too bad. Took a month and a half for them to low ball us beyond belief. If you use them please check your policies, you may not be as covered as you think you are, and you may end up in this terrible situation that we are. I hope not, and I hope they never do this to anyone again. Not to mention having $16,000 in after market parts and work, that we will never get back.

Recently, when I contacted them for an auto insurance quote I was lied to by an agent, and told that they ONLY offer a package policy and if I wanted an auto policy I would NEED to also purchase either a renters or life insurance policy. When I responded saying I was only interested in car insurance and asked if this claim was actually true, instead of apologizing and sending me the car insurance quote I was requesting, I was told that, without renters insurance, I would be responsible for any damages caused by fire or theft. No, really?? Finally, after explaining I was aware of this and asking a THIRD time for a car insurance quote I was provided with one. In a business where prices are so competitive between different providers, I am surprised this agent hasn't learned that customer service is important and that flat out lying about their policies is not excusable. My family members and I will be finding new insurance elsewhere.
