This is a nice new store. They have jewelry and watches. I didn't see anything I super loved and the skull designs and earrings that look like rings aren't my thing. But it's a well appointed store and not a bad shop to visit if you want to bling out.

Seriously - what can one say about a watch place, right? And yet - I went there yesterday…read moreafternoon to replace the battery in 3 watches, and see if they could fix the winder which fell off another, and I couldn't be happier with them. (Yes - I might have a watch addiction, but that is a conversation for another day.) It's a small store, but they had 3 men working behind the counter on watch repairs. A man came up to find out what I needed, took my watches back, and had the batteries replaced and back to me within 5 minutes. I have never, ever, had them changed so quickly. They had to keep the damaged watch to see if they could find a winder that fits it - hopefully it will be ready this weekend. I thought their prices were very reasonable (3 watch battery replacements cost what one did at a local jeweler), and this has become my new, go-to watch place. Oh - they also sell jewelry and watches, if you are in the market.

I am convinced that they ruined my watch. I have an old citizen 5510 titanium watch from the 1990's…read morethat was a gift from my mother. I was going to give it to the grandson as its a nice durable watch. I went the day before showed them the watch type and they said replacing the battery would be no problem. I had already looked up on how to do it on google and it said that as long as you don't touch the coils it would be fine. I decided to leave it to the professionals. Well I drop it off the next day and they bang open the case, did not use a watch wrench scraping up the titanium back! They then inform me that it does not work once they install the battery, that they don't make the movement anymore and that was that. If they had had a watch wrench on hand and used it to open the thing ($7 on amazon $10 for a nice one), I might be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. As it is I am feeling like I could have done better!

They even let me design a new wedding ring for my wife using the original ring and other diamonds sold to me from there. I bought a Rolex Watch for almost $1,200 less than the other shops. They also took time to inform me how to identify a fake one from the real ones. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I will never spend my hard earned money for jewelry to any other store but Arnolds.

I've been doing business with Arnold's for over six years and have always had positive experiences, until now. I brought in a 14k gold brooch to sell, but Ray didn't even bother to look at it. Instead, he went off on a tangent about losing money on resin-filled pieces that turned out to be fake, which had nothing to do with the item I brought in. He didn't even take the time to actually look at or test the piece. It felt like he didn't want my business at all. I was honestly so baffled I left. When I got home, I tested the brooch again. It definitely was 14k gold. I called the store and spoke with Ray. He told me to cut it in half and if it's hollow bring it back and he'll buy it. If he inspected it from the beginning, he would've known that. The brooch was light and there were two tiny air holes on the back. I've been buying and selling gold for quite some time and know what I'm doing. I returned less than an hour later with the brooch and a 10K stick pin I had shown him at the initial visit. The brooch weighed 5 grams on my scale, but when I asked about the pricing, he said they go by pennyweight. After doing the math at home, it appears I was shorted. I always check the live gold price on their website beforehand, and I feel what I was paid didn't reflect their rate. To make matters worse, the 10K stick pin he had just valued at $58 the initial visit was only paid out at $32. I didn't catch this until I reviewed the receipt afterward. With the amethyst stone removed I know it had to weigh at least 1gram. Should have paid out at about $50 not $32! Over the years, I've recommended Arnold's to many people and even left two 5-star reviews on Yelp and Google. I've always worked with Zack or his sister and never had any issues, which is why this experience with Ben was so disappointing. If I choose to sell here again, I will definitely bring my scale to double check weights and pricing. Especially when dealing with Ray. I'd like to add that we don't just scrap at Arnold's. My youngest has bought Pokémon cards here as well. I have to say, they have an amazing selection. Especially when it comes to the Japanese booster boxes.
