Please see the UPDATE at the bottom…read more Original Review Did a root canal for me. I was the first appointment of the day. Started right on time. Great procedure. Efficient. In and out in under an hour. At the end, he says to me, "OK, now go back to your dentist to complete the procedure. I put in a plug that will last for about 10 days." I have a crown on the tooth. He put a "plug" in the hole he made in the crown and now I have to go back to my dentist. I paid him $1,000 for the root canal and now I have to go back to my dentist to spend another $250 to remove the plug and put in crown material? He couldn't spend another 10 minutes, while I'm already deadened, and complete the job? At least offer to do so? I felt like after having work done on an engine, the mechanic saying, "OK, now go to the Jiffy Lube and get the oil." UPDATE I went to my dentist to get the crown completed. He charged me $200 to remove the plug and replace it with crown material. It took him 10 minutes to remove the plug. 10 minutes to refill with crown material. He said, that in the past, the plug allowed for the root canal material to "cure" (what?) but that really, it could be done all at one time now. So, David Johnson is just following industry practice. It's my first root canal, so didn't know. He did a fine job. A better job would have been if he had asked, "I can fill your crown with a plug and you can go back to your dentist, pay another $200, and have him complete the crown. Or, I can just take an extra 5 minutes and finish the job at no extra charge." I wonder how I would have answered that question?

Whereupon, I jump through the roof because I'm not quite deadened yet. Dr Johnson gave me a little more at the beginning, just for good measure. He listened and took me seriously. The procedure, itself, was quick and painless. I would go to him again in a hot minute.

I just wanted to acknowledge Redwood Endodontics for being a top-notch business that has very…read morequality, upright, and patient-centered values and practices. They did a procedure for me to fix a root canal I had had done with my dentist that remained infected. Regrettably the procedure they did for me still did not quite fix the problem, so they got me in immediately to redo the procedure they had done for me previously. They did not charge me for the additional procedure, not one more dollar. They told me they have a policy that if any work they do has to be redone within a year or two of it having been done previously they do not recharge the patient. Dental work being as it is sometimes root canals or other work getting re-infected is just something that happens and is outside of a professional's control. So the fact that they follow this practice of redoing any procedure they've done that did not end up being successful is a wonderful upstanding practice. I would recommend Redwood Endodontics to anyone needing specialty dental work!

So first I want to state that the parking is absolutely horrendous. 9 times out of ten, you will…read morenot find parking. Everything is so crowded. Second im not entirely sure why its such a foreign concept in utah that people are allergic to large doses of epinephrine or the numbing agents or shots that they put in the mouth but I did warn them ahead of time on the phone. Anyways- this company kept trying to push me to get stuff I was allergic too. I told them " I use the laughing gas in leiu of numbing stuff and always have and I do great" and the " dentist helper" kept trying to get me to do it. She kept trying to change the wording, and she didn't believe that I actually had an allergy. Not only that but the front desk said they put the 988.54 back on my card and they did not. I just talked to the bank. So not only is this company trying to take my money and try to rip me off... they also don't care about the health or allergies of the customer. The front desk lady tried making me pay before they even did any work on me.. Before I even talked to the doctor or was even seen by the helper of the dentist. I told them " nice try but I get the work done and then pay im happy to pay half in good faith and the rest when treatment is done" the girl at the front said, "that's okay.. you can pay after" but apparently it wasnt okay cause the withered lady who looks like cinderella's stepmother came in and demanded payment NOW. again, I'm not sure why this company is so different. But they are very difficult to work with. It's very shady. Just a heads up buttercups- and just a business tip from someone who actually went to business college -people get the service and then they pay for the service. That's common knowledge. I'm not entirely sure why you are being bougie and trying to be money hungry, but it's not a good look. It makes you look like you are money hungry and that you don't care about quality. So anyways I get back there getting ready for everything. And then this old hag comes in ( cinderellas step mother lookin old woman) and demands payment. These people do not communicate with each other. And they make customers feel extremely uncomfortable. The dentist was really nice, though. I will give him that. He was very professional although on the paperwork, at the beginning- I noted that I wanted to talk to the dentist alone before the appointment and that didn't happen. Why make you fill out paperwork if you don't even look at it? So anyway- He came in with another person and I felt like I was in a rush, on top of everything else that they put me through.. With them not communicating with each other and them not being on the same page and me, being in the middle of it, and me feeling rushed like I wasn't cared about why or my health was cared about... My anxiety literally got the better of me and so I left. The woman lied to me and said that she put the money back on the card but she didn't. I'm never coming here again and I would recommend everyone not to come here as well. Especially if you want to leave with half a brain cell left in your body. Just be prepared to not get your needs. Taken care of especially when it comes to anxiety or healthwise, because they don't care, and it clearly showed the the entire appointment. They have no integrity, they do not communicate, and they go back and forth.

The root canal he gave me was SO PAINFUL. His office INTENTIONALLY over bills you when you have double insurance. I paid the $500 they made me pay even though I knew I woudn't owe.
