Recently the conditions advanced to the point where we needed to fuse that area. Something shifted in my back and I was in a great deal of pain. Dr. Pingree talked to me after hours and contacted Melanie their insurance specialist. Within two days I was approved for the procedure and Dr. Pingree scheduled me on a day off because he knew I was in a great deal of pain. I can't say enough about their concern and support. I am now 3 weeks post surgery and feel relatively very good. Thank you!

Since my last fusion I've continued to suffer greatly, unable to work, do daily chores, and just live without struggling with this pain. Well, I had another MRI and EMG and another nerve study done. I followed through on everything I was told I should do by the PA's in his office and even though a different doctor. And they proceeded to shut me down regarding the pain, stiffness and tightness, to name a few issues, and then proceeded to dismiss me from their care and told me to go find a new Neurologist because they didn't think I was a good candidate for surgery. First, please go over my test results, second, suggest a couple of different Neurologist's, third, just because I might not need another fusion right away, I still deserve to be treated like I was treated before each of my surgeries!! One last thing, in 2019 when I went back to see Dr. Pingree to go over a recent MRI which was ordered by a different doctor, he proceeded to yell at me and asked me why I didn't come in to him! Okay, I guess when you are no longer a good surgical specimen everyone in that office treats you like your out of your mind and that you have no idea what is happening within your own body?!?!? As far as I go, I'm extremely in touch with the going's on within my body and expect to be treated better that just a paycheck!!! So now I'm without a Neurologist and have no idea who's good, compassionate and loyal to their patients!?!?!? I'm very sad and in complete dismay!! Good luck!!!

I left a comfortable provider but through insurance I was allowed to research my own provider and took a chance on Oliva Bently. This amazing individual was honest with me (she had no idea how to treat this unique problem) LOL -but prepared me for that. This awesome doctor took time to discuss my symptoms without gaslighting or dismissing my opinion of what is happening. This kind professional suggested specialists for my problem and offered pre - authorizations for that help. When my daughter went to the same Tanner clinic they hooked her up with a professional who was thorough, understanding, and kind. Its been years since my adult daughter had someone like Megan however, after just a few visits Megan moved - Ugh- starting over soon.

Getting an appointment is next to impossible and if you have any questions that come up up, well, the answer is always the same - go to the ER. Yeah, that's the best they could do - the nurses just don't seem to care. One mid level providers was really good, but the overall the leadership of the clinic is dismal and the constant turn over of disinterested doctors leaves patients with poor experiences. I left this clinic about 2 years ago in frustration and I am finally receiving care that is way better than what I had through the U. Try Intermountain or some of the other neurologists in the area. All they did was gaslight, misconstrue, or ignore me when I tried to get help for the earlier stages of this as well as other medical conditions over the years prior. For years they told me my neuro problems were conversion disorder and did little to help me, even though I had clinical data that pointed to many things going wrong. I lived a miserable life with little opportunity due to disabilities and constraints my health conditions forced on me. I had drug side effects and a biotoxin illness causing pretty significant and debilitating neurologic problems, but they blew all that off and lied through their teeth about drug side effects [if they even understood the medications I was on at all, which they probably didn't]. I had to heal myself without their intervention. Years later I got another MRI and it showed a dangerous cystic development, which should have landed prompt consultation with neurosurgeons or specialists in an emergency situation, since I had symptoms of myelopathy. Not only could they not recognize this obvious finding on the MRI [out of network providers did], but they also won't do anything AT ALL to help me when I discussed the symptomology consistent with the beginnings of high cord myelopathy. I'm talking about my arms AND legs weakening substantially in a short time and having balance and walking problems. Alas, they didn't give a damn and sent me out of the office with nothing! Not even recommendations for a competent provider who could see me instead. Anyway, if you want to deal with paper tigers in exchange for heaps of your insurance money, and if you like being gaslit whilst you waste away from a rare or complex neurologic condition, go to U of U neurology. They'll gladly bill you in exchange for thoughts and prayers, if even that!

Getting in touch with someone on the phone is a wait, long recording and selection process, which always ends up getting you on hold if you're lucky and voicemail being more likely. When you show up for an appointment to see the doctor, the wait times can be in excess of 2 hours! 2 hours in a lobby! It has been that way for years too. That's the frustrating part, is that it is always like this so why don't they schedule more accordingly? Wait times are never less than an hour, but that's as short as they get and that's if you're seeing the physicians assistant. The office is just chaos, too busy, to much of a machine for proper patient care.
