OMG! This company is a nightmare to deal with. We leased a property that had a 20+ year old tank on it. When we moved in, we researched gas companies and chose Davenport because it's who our landlord used. We were set up on auto-fill, but on a busy weekend, we ran out of gas and called for an emergency fill up. The driver didn't want to come out on a weekend, and wanted to charge an exhorbitant fee. So we called Glenwood and they came right out, filled it up for a LOT less than Davenport was charging us. So we switched to Glenwood and have been happy ever since. Then Davenport decided they owned the tank, and threatened to lock it up so we couldn't get our gas from anyone else. We told them to prove to us that they owned the tank which they obviously couldn't do. So they called Glenwood and threatened them, making THEM pay $400 for the tank that they don't even own. Disgusting! I HATE this company. Don't ever do business with them. Their prices are high, customer service SUCKS, and they use threats and intimidation to try to keep customers. read more

Founded in 1941 by Ben J. Davenport, Sr. Davenport Energy has grown from a small oil jobbership to a multifaceted company. Since its inception, Davenport Energy has strived to provide quality petroleum products with emphasis on customer satisfaction and personal contact. The company started and grew primarily through large agricultural and residential demand for fuel oil. Today, our customer base has expanded to include large industry throughout southside Virginia and North Carolina. So so pleased with the service we received from start to finish! Laura, our sales rep was wonderful! Super helpful and was great communicating with us from start to finish! Shaine and the guys, Mike and Travis came out last week to install our new logs and check all the lines. Our house is old and needed to be brought to code. They moved one of our tanks so we didn't have to have a gas line run right through our built in shelving. Most would have come in and taken the easy way out and just ran the line! Not Shaine! I am so thankful he takes such pride in his job! He is super knowledgeable about all of the old equipment in our 50+ year old home, and he was great when explaining how to use it all! He was also a super mentor, as I watched him guide Mike and show him the ropes. Which leads me to Mike! What a fantastic addition to your team! Hold on to him, he is wonderful with people! Enjoyable to chat with as well as super helpful when my husband needed a hand! Thanks again Davenport Energy for the amazing customer service!
