Even hearing the name of the Date Restaurant & Designers' Corner was enough to spark my curiosity to visit this amazing place. Although Date looks quite fancy at first (while table clothes, dim lighting & brick walls), the vibe of the restaurant is so chilled-out and friendly. It almost feels like you are at a cool person's well-decorated apartment, trying out some semi-experimental food. Another thing to mention is the music -- oh. my. god. the music. Their playlist is this lounge-y, electronic and triphop-ish stream of awesome tunes that make the dinner taste much better.
Foodwise, the starters are the God here. Duck Wrap with Plum Sauce, Almond Hummus, Smoked Octopus Carpaccio and Salmon Gravlax -- all amazing. After all these heavenly mini stuff, you'll probably have left small room for the main course but Shrimp, avocado, beet Salad and Asparagus & Artichoke Risotto should be consumed. Oh, the dessert? Crème brulee please.
Also, I hear that Date has a bar/club scene in the after hours, so next time I'm gonna stop for a drink (or two). Apparently, they have some international DJs spinning over the weekends. Oh yeah. Go try Date, pretty low possibility of disappointment there. read more
