I just moved from the United States (Portland Oregon) where you can get all kinds of natural and organic pet food even things that accommodate special diets. I was worried moving to Germany that our cat would be missing out on food choices but Das Futterhaus put all those worries to rest. I really only went in for a cat scratch post but I was surprised and overwhelmed with all the options and how much of it was quality above and beyond what you'd get in the states. I did bet our cat a couple treats while we were there too, she LOVES the chicken and insect food. read more
This store is super close to the METRO store and Hornbach in Mainz Kastel. It's a cute pet store that offers a great variety of snacks, pet food, accessories, toys. There is a small section for birds and fish, but cat and dog things dominate the store. I got my dog an elevated pet bowl here for her birthday. It's super cute! A water and food bowl held by a metal supporter. It was on sale so it made the purchase even better! Convenient parking right in front and the workers are all really nice. Tip- I do not recommend buying a dog bed here. They are extremely overpriced at this store. You can find cheaper ones on Amazon, zoo palast, or even at the bigger OBI or Hornbach stores by Appelallee. read more
