As far as I can tell, Fressnapf is the cheapest pet supply store in Vienna, and offers the largest…read morevariety of supplies. They don't sell any animals, and most of their products focus on cats and especially dogs, but they do have a small animals section to cater to the many guinea pig and rabbit owners of Vienna. (There seriously seems to be a disproportionate number of guinea pig owners in Vienna!)
As a cat owner I find myself shopping at this Fressnapf pretty regularly, and the people working are consistently on the friendly and helpful side. This store also has great sales on their scratching posts and cat trees, and the brand of organic cat food I buy (wet of course) is a pretty reasonable price, sometimes on sale for 5 for the price of 4, etc.
Something else I really appreciate is that they have frequent buyer cards, where you get a stamp for every €10 you spend that day. When your card is full, you can use it for 25% off anything in the store except cat or dog food. Well. They stopped offering the cards for a long time (like a year maybe!), but when I went to use my last 25% off discount (I'd been saving it for something expensive), they honored it even though they hadn't used those cards in months, and weren't currently offering any frequent buying cards! (The cards are recently back, by the way.)
So, kudos to Fressnapf - their selection of goods and the prices thereof, and the customer service, have satisfied my pet supply needs for 18 months now!
