The hygienist asked the receptionist who acted like she understood the question but she didn't give any response to the question. After my cleaning the receptionist guided me to meet with the doctor. I asked my question which didn't involve ANY exam or even looking in my mouth. Later I received a bill for my cleaning and I was charged an additional $150 for an exam. When I called the office manager she was very rude and said ANY meeting with the doctor constitutes an appt and I would have to pay or it would go to collections. She didn't care whatsoever that her receptionist made a mistake---there was zero customer service. Apparently it didn't matter that I asked two of her employees, one of whom, the hygienist, I had no fault with--she asked if I could ask the question without having to have an appt and be charged. But the receptionist said nothing and apparently had no culpable responsibility here and the manager was extremely rude and inflexible. I will never go back here. Dr. Melton makes sure that I'm comfortable, pain-free and at ease with any and every procedure performed. Not only is he extremely professional, he's kind, easy going and hilarious. I was shocked when he showed me the digital films documenting small cracks around the amalgams. In conversation with Dr. Melton's staff, I was given to understand that Dr. Melton's approach is "conservative." To me, this is borderline negligent. Perhaps if he wasn't distracted by self-inflicted staffing problems, which apparently are worse now, he could focus on his work.

I always try for early morning appointments and when I walk in, even though I'm looking at serious work, I get an immediate sense of welcome and "don't worry, we've got this." Dr. Fluegge figured out how to mix professionalism and high standards (check out the equipment!) with a staff group you can instantly trust. Yep, it feels like family there and I'm not kidding when I say it wouldn't be a bad place to just sit. I had delayed dental work during the worst of COVID and I worried about what to do.
