I won tickets to the Taste of Huntington Beach from Yelp! The event is $65 per person and benefits…read morethe HB Central Library. The event brings in a lot of vendors in and around Huntington Beach. This was my first Taste of HB event. There were breweries, wineries, food, and even grocery vendors. The food and drink is all inclusive with admission which means you get your money's worth just by walking around and trying everything out. It began at 11 am for VIP and 12 pm for the general public going until 4 pm. If you brought your lawn chair you can camp out for the entire time enjoying the live entertainment and sunshine. You park at the HB Sports complex where parking is $1 for the entire day or you could valet for $5. Highlights for me were the spicy edamame from Reef's Edge Grill (Shorebreak), Three Twins ice cream, Strongbow cider, Pan Roast from Ritter's, and the corn and watermelon samples from Solita's Tacos. Great event and can't wait to check it out next year.

It was a little hard to find empty tables to seat since there weren't much seats avaliable. During tasting hours, we tried so much food from the booths. I appreciate how Taste of HB has many tasting booths (40+) for everyone to try! The lines weren't that much of a wait, but there was a lot of people so it was hard to get through. We went for multiple rounds for most of the booths and enjoyed every booth's food! Our experience here was enjoyable. They had bands playing and other giveaways going on. Parking wasn't a haggle. I'm planning to go here again this upcoming year! Can't wait. You guys should go check it out.

Only 2 cherry blossom trees survived the spring before the festival so that was a bust. There were food booths but they were not that great of choice of food so we didn't get anything. We had a few face stencils. My son had a bat on his face and I got cherry blossoms on my hand. We saw traditional Japanese tea for $5 near the garden section. Plenty of tables to sit at and enjoy the event. There was a variety of traditional and Japanese street food to try in one place. I had the Tokyo Yakisiba spicy noodles with egg and it was so good (it was worth the wait). You can see Happy Man cooking the food and spreading his happiness. Shake Ramen was a different kind of way to eat ramen and it was so tasty. The fried Oreos from drizzle were so addicting and melted in your mouth . It was nice to see everyone coming out to support OCCBFest since this was the first time in 3 years. Entrance was free and parking was free, plus free entertainment. The Orange County Cherry Blossom Festival has been inspired by and helped to fund an international student exchange program between Huntington Beach and its sister city, Anjo, Japan.

Go islanders! This is the 9th year for PIF OC and ashamed to say this was only my first time…read more I've gone to the much larger event in San Diego 3 years in a row, so I'm going to use that as a basis for comparison. Location & Parking - First, know that this park is huge! The event is right behind the HB Library. There is a lot of parking, but for a big event, you may have trouble finding a close spot. This is an outdoor event. Free. You can bring your lawn or folding chairs, or a big blanket for the ground. No smoking (host kept repeating this, so friendly reminder). Performances are throughout the day, lasting about 20-30 minutes each region. There is about an hour break around lunch time which is when most get their food or shopping. Food - there was a Guam, Hawaii, Tonga and Samoa booth. The selection is limited to about 4-6 per booth, basically just the staples and popular dishes. There is also booth for drinks and shaved ice. Outside food or drinks? - I didn't see any signs saying not allowed, but if you bring a little snack or water bottle I don't think anyone would mind. In San Diego, I've seen groups bring a whole fiesta of food like they do in the islands, but I didn't see any of that here. So just be mindful I guess. Restrooms - sure, there are enough Port-a-potties... Vendors and shops - mix of island jewelry, accessories, apparel, little bit of snacks, knick knacks. Tips: - bring cash, not just for food, but also for shopping if that's your thang! Only a few accept cards. Most want cash. - the food does run out (almost every booth ran out of something). So the earlier you get there, the better. And get in line right away. If you wait 10 minutes, that line could easily double or triple. Get the food you want while it's still available. Summary: Pleasantly impressed! The park is beautiful surrounded by just the right amount of trees and shading. PIF OC is about 1/3rd the size of San Diego's event. I felt the crowd and setting to be more intimate here. There were a good amount of non-islanders also. The hosts did a great job today of entertaining, mingling and working the crowd. Kudos to all the event workers in their orange shirts, they did a great job keeping the event organized. Plan on around 3+ hours to comfortably enjoy the music, performances, food and shops. It's this weekend only, but in case you miss it, there's always next year. Just went today for the first time with the family and I was impressed with the scope and scale of the event. Nonstop cultural performances on the stage (music, dance), awesome food booths, island handicrafts for sale, and so much more. The cultures of Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, Tahiti (Polynesia), Aotearoa (New Zealand), Guam, Northern Marianas, Marshall Islands (Micronesia), and Fiji (Melanesia) are featured at this event. This gathering of cultures is not something you run across every day! Really, you must go check it out for yourself to truly grasp what a great (and free!) event this is. No festival would be complete without food, and this one did not disappoint. I had the Tonga food plate and it was delicious. Granted, I am no expert on Tongan food since it was my first encounter with the cuisine, but it was really tasty. Maybe I'll go back tomorrow to try some of the other foods. I would have gotten more today but if you know island foods--they're not exactly light fare. Why? As I recall Nguyen hue didn't have a food court. This had a food court which took over a side street n boy was that fun, they had my favorite "banh khot fr Vung Tau" grilled lobster tail. Soups, pancakes etc.. all the yummy street food you can afford wo having to sell your house these days. The flowers were amazing orchids, gladiolus there were many juicery stands, beef jerky stores, I bought a nice fake Chanel sweater only $25 just as good as the real thing. They also sell red envelopes for "lixi" happy or lucky money, on week ends they had live music n lion dance. I love the Asian Garden mall the only indoor mall we have here. Vietnamese from 49 states came here every year n most will immediately make plan to move to this land of milk n honey, it used to be really easy to move here n so cheap too. An average home I used to sell for $140k is now $1.4 million in Little Saigon so most VN tourists will just hang out here enjoy the ambiance, the food n have to go home, even then it's so worth it to visit a home away from home.

There is definitely something here for everyone, the schools, dance studios, you name it. Everything for everyone is here! I like the booth that read " meet the Orange County mayor". I didn't have any questions for him though. This year there was a wonderful area specifically designed for children. Apparently the restaurant, Canes chicken fingers, gave a lot of donations for this area. The only thing I didn't care for was the timeshare booth, they really didn't advertise what their intent was. I noticed that everybody was enjoying the food, it's just such a wonderful event! In conclusion, can't wait to go next year again, because it was really well organized, very clean, everyone seem to be polite. Parking was not an issue for us. We got there very early, and the weather was great.

I politely responded "that is ok sir my drunk condition will change in the morning but you are still going to be an asshole and a liar in the morning! The fair runs every summer from about mid‑July through mid‑August (this year July18-August17) and is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from around 11a.m.-11p.m., and Fridays & Saturdays until midnight -- lots of time for all the fun! Tickets are around $13 midweek and $15 on weekends for adults, $9 for seniors/kids (6-12), and free for kids 5 and under, and you can even get a $60 Every Day Passport to come anytime! Parking onsite is about $15 per car (and buses/limos around $30), with tons of parking and staff guiding you in -- even though it gets packed like Disneyland on summer nights! We always have the best time -- from grabbing pizza, pineapple fried rice, ice cream, boba, fried Oreos, or whatever catches our eye at the food vendors (prices vary by booth), to watching shows, visiting animals (the kids love that), and snapping so many fun photo ops! The atmosphere is amazing, the smells and lights are the best, and you seriously need like 10 hours to do it all -- we're so glad we went and can't wait to go back again next summer!

Parking is expensive and I often feel like I am getting taken advantage of, especially when I'm paying for the attraction or event and then additional fees for on-site parking. The grounds themselves are fine, about what I expect for a county fairgrounds. Reasonably well maintained and fairly clean so kudos to their custodial staff because many patrons and visitors are frankly pigs, dropping trash, food wrappers, and other refuse rather than walking to a trash receptical and disposing of it responsibily. Pacific amphitheater is a good place to see a show. Good acoustics and convenient location. It would be great if the management would invest back into the facilities. I'll return because there are events and shows that I want to attend at the oc fair and events center.
