Every member of staff is knowledgeable, friendly and extremely talented; Danny and Adam are nothing short of miracle workers. Robs is situated just a bit further down from the old Argos on Newborough. He does tattoos and…read morepiercing. Rob is a nice friendly guy, the place is spotlessly clean. He has the usual array of designs to choose from in the windows which are repeated again on the walls inside. If you have your own design then he will do that for you too, just give him a bit of time to sort it out into a stencil for you. They can be quite pricey so think about it plus if it's your first then start off small. It's very painful and if you can't handle the pain you don't want to be stuck with half a tattoo!! Robs is open all year round but he does close for a couple of days during the week, be prepared to wait in summer as he can get busy and he works alone.

I spoke to the owner Sam and asked about their hygeine procedures. She insisted on showing me around and explaining exactly how they do things - very reassuring. I've been in some tattoo/piercing places where they sneer at you for any question you dare to ask, but this couldn't have been more different, she was happy to chat and answer everything. Since the jewellery they had in wasn't quite right for my ear she recommended somewhere I could get a suitable piece (another point in favour - wanting to do things properly rather than just take my money) so all in all I went back there about four times before actually getting it done - got a friendly and helpful reception each time. It's a slightly tricky and painful piercing, but it helped that I felt assured that Sam knew what she was doing, and she was the right mix of sympathetic and businesslike. She asked me a couple of times if I was ok or needed a drink of water, but didn't fuss too much or prolong things - perfect for a wuss like me! Plus she asked if she could take a photograph at the end which made me feel like a celebrity, always nice (delusional? :p ) I ended up with a wicked piercing and some good advice on aftercare with a free bottle of their saline solution thrown in. If I decide on another piercing I'll be back here in a heartbeat.
