I stayed at before the all inclusive Garza Blanca and I would definitely plan to come here - I could say this is the best restaurant at the resort! Make sure to reserve around sunset! Also, I review this as an Chinese person who has eaten at many different, Asian restaurants in San Francisco, New York City, Los Angeles, etc.
Ambience 5/5
Absolutely stunning - ESPECIALLY at sunset. This restaurant is located on the roof top, next to the infinity pool. Also, the design of the restaurant is comfortable, contemporary, and modern such a great experience! They play Lofi music which fits the vibe perfectly.
Food 4.9/5
Everything was surprisingly a lot better than I was anticipating, being in Mexico. Some food BETTER than what I've had in the heart of SF China Town! I believe they do use MSG which makes everything delicious :) but made things a bit on the saltier side.
Chefs Hor fun Noodles - GET THIS with beef. There is something called "Wok Hei" which is essentially the charred Smokey flavor/HEAT from cooking in a Wok. And it was the most amazing Wok Hei I've ever tasted!
Green beans with XO sauce - very flavorful and tasty! XO sauce is expensive, and I think they gave more XO sauce than green beans!
BBQ Char Sui (pork) Buns - Delicious, fluffy exterior, flavorful interior. Would recommend as a Chinese dim sum staple
Xiao Long Bao - soup dumplings, he's actually tasted more like dumplings, then soup dumplings (not enough soup. Nice flavor though!
Hot & Sour Soup - better than a lot of Chinese restaurants we have had this soup at. A really great appetizer
Banana and lychee spring rolls - this is quite yummy! Dip the eggrolls in sweeten condensed milk. Also served with a VERY coconuty icecream.
Dao Cheesecake - one of the desserts that has a fire show associated! :) (or so I saw at the table next door - I didn't personally taste this this time)
Service 5/5
Our main server was Emanuelle - he along with the rest of the staff were amazing. You can tell that the whole team is very tightknit. They sing happy birthday to the guests all together (one person with the cake, the fire show, the Instagram square, and everyone singing), they are willing to help each other out, even if it's not their main job, and the Chef, Atlas Ho, even stopped by to check in with us
As some background, Atlas mentioned that he specializes in Chinese Malaysian cooking. He has had experience in Malaysia, Bali and has helped with the set up of the PV location restaurant. He has truly brought the values of Chinese cuisine to Cancun. Down to the cookware, tea-ware, and essence within the food!
It truly feels like a full production, whether it is cutting the peking duck right at the table, doing a birthday cake fire show, or making mixed drinks at table side! 100% would recommend and I will be back! read more
