After the next barber finishes up with client she cleaned her stall and asked if either of us was Ken. Neither was, so she asked whom we had appt with. I stated I was a walk in and she proceeded to tell me no walk ins after sitting for 20 minutes. I stayed it would have been nice to know that earlier and was told there was a sign out front (news to me) and they can't repeat themselves all day. Sounds like a you problem if you need to continue to repeat yourself and you're signage is inadequate. Never again!

We were greeted right away with a friendly smile, and Toi was able to fit my grandfather in for an appointment. Toi took his time giving my grandfather a proper shave and cut. He remained patient as my grandfather repeated the same things and just truly made my Grampy feel good. Toi shared stories of his family and life experience, and also his gratitude - to a stranger who was in desperate need of some extra love and kindness. When I was ready to pay, Toi refused our payment. He told us he could not accept our money and again thanked my grandfather for his service. An act of kindness like this always goes a long way, but today it was exceptionally kind. My grandfather lost his son, my uncle, just two days ago and has been truly heartbroken since. The last two days have been filled with such pain and emotion for him. I am forever an advocate of supporting small businesses. Our experience at Slick's was very special and I would recommend them 100x over. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Toi for not only making my grandfather's day, but also mine.
