John was punctual, knowledgeable, and incredibly professional from start to finish. He even came out on a separate day beforehand to assess the site and ensure his crane would work properly for the job. He was responsive to every call, courteous, and took the time to answer all of my questions. The project was completed flawlessly, on time, and with zero stress on my end. It's rare to find someone so reliable and dedicated to customer service. I highly recommend JB Cranes to anyone in need of crane services and will absolutely be using them again in the future. Very disappointing experience. Poor communication, inconsistent pricing, and unprofessional…read moreservice. I hired this crane company to lift a single 15-ton HVAC unit to the first floor. I was initially quoted $1,000, but when we arrived at the job site, the price suddenly became $1,350. What was even more concerning was the lack of technical coordination. Nobody in the office could clearly confirm whether a spreader bar was required to properly distribute the load. The driver also seemed unsure. For a crane company handling heavy HVAC equipment, these are basic details that should be confirmed before arriving at the job site--not figured out in front of the customer. The driver's attitude made the situation even worse. Instead of professionally addressing the issue, he was rude, confrontational, and seemed more interested in arguing with the customer than completing the job. It appears that the company has grown quickly, but its communication, technical knowledge, and field operations have not kept up with that growth. For a crane company, reliable communication, accurate pricing, proper rigging knowledge, and professional behavior are not optional--they are the foundation of the service. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this company. Honestly, even one star feels generous.

Gus Gomez and Calgrove Rentals Saved the Day!…read more I rarely write reviews like this, but Gus Gomez at Calgrove Rentals absolutely earned every one of these five stars today. We were working on a major project in Beverly Hills and suddenly found ourselves in desperate need of a mid-sized mini excavator. I had already called 8 or 9 different equipment rental companies around Los Angeles with no luck. We had a 200-ton crane standing by, a full ground crew on site, and approximately $5,000 worth of Beverly Hills road closure and traffic control in place for the day. If we couldn't get that excavator, the entire job was in jeopardy and we were looking at potentially losing more than $25,000 between equipment, crews, permits, traffic control and lost production. Then I called Gus Gomez at Calgrove Rentals. Gus immediately understood how serious the situation was. On an extremely busy Monday, he dropped what he was doing, went to work for us, and somehow managed to get the machine we needed delivered to our Beverly Hills job site in LESS THAN TWO HOURS! That kind of customer service is almost impossible to find anymore. Gus didn't just rent us a piece of equipment--he saved our entire job and saved a lot of hardworking people from losing a day's pay. After nearly 30 years working with contractors, cranes, heavy equipment and specialty projects, I know exceptional service when I see it. Gus Gomez and Calgrove Rentals have earned my business and my highest recommendation. If you need equipment in the Los Angeles area, CALL GUS FIRST. Thank you again, Gus. You really came through for us when we needed it most. Captain Roy CRT TREES
