Not too long ago I came to Mr. James Danko, Attorney at Law, with an issue that involved family members. Now before I go any further I must tell you that I had taken this issue to many other lawyers and no one would help me, that is until I met Mr. Danko. After consulting him about my issue I finally realized why the other lawyers would not take the case. Winning it was going to be a "long shot" but he felt that with some work and commitment to my issue, and the hope of getting an understanding Judge, we just might have a chance. Having never really needed a Lawyer before, (except for land issues) I put all my trust into Mr. Danko. From the very beginning Mr. Danko was honest, communicative, and hard working. He took my case and worked extremely hard on it. Always keeping me informed as the case progressed. One of the things Mr. Danko did that I never thought any Lawyer had EVER done was cut his fee for his service. Here in Charleston, SC it is generally known that all the really good lawyers are located "downtown", and if you get a downtown lawyer you better have a lot of money. Mr. Danko is located downtown. I was scared to death that I'd never be able to afford him. Mr. Danko cut his fee for his services to almost nothing. How do I know this? Remember I spoke with many lawyers before Mr. Danko accepted my case. Why did Mr. Danko do this? I felt it was because he felt sorry for me, and he believed (honestly) in my case. Over time, Mr. Danko went to great lengths to win my case. He met with me regularly and always answered all my questions. One time I met with him in his office and when I saw the size of my "file", it looked like he had been working on my case for years. Mr. Danko went "above and beyond the call of duty" for me, and I am extremely grateful for everything he did. After all was said and done, and my case was taken as far as it could go, I ultimately lost, but that was never due to anything Mr. Danko did or did not do. He had told me from the start that my case was a "long shot", but he felt confident that with hard work and that "right Judge" it was possible I could win. It was not to be. After I had lost my case there was another judgement against me for attorney "fees" of the defendant. Here is the second thing I never thought a Lawyer would do. Mr. Danko took responsibility for the attorney fees that had been granted to the defendant! Yes, you heard me right, my lawyer felt that it was his fault I got nailed with those attorney fees. You could have knocked me over with a feather. In conclusion I just want to say that I'm just an average guy. I have never had the need for lawyers in my life, and never really cared for them, but in this case, when no one else would even talk to me, Mr. James Danko sat down with me and accepted my case. He charged me a fraction of what he could have charged. He worked very hard on my behalf, and kept me informed every step of the way. If he had gotten the right Judge he would have won my case, but that did not happen, and then even when all was said and done, he saved me more money (money I could not afford to lose) by accepting responsibility for fees any other lawyer would have billed to the client. I know this much. From this point on, any time I feel that I need a Lawyer that will truly give me the honest advice and help I need with not so much regard for the almighty dollar, I will call Mr. James Danko, Attorney at Law.
