I went to Dr. Daniel Vazquez's office all throughout elementary and middle school. When I needed braces, I got them here in the 6th grade. Everything seemed fine at first, but over time, I noticed my teeth were moving very slowly. At one point, my parents scheduled me for a cleaning at The Super Dentists across the street. Since I was a first-time patient there, they asked about my dental history. When I told them how long I had been wearing braces, they were surprised--by that point, my teeth should have made much more progress. My mom decided to have them take a closer look, and that's when we realized that Dr. Vazquez was a general dentist, not an orthodontist. Because of this, I had to get my braces completely removed and redone by an actual orthodontist, which meant I had to wear them for even longer than necessary. While Dr. Vazquez's general dental services were fine, this situation was frustrating and felt like a huge waste of time & MONEY If you're looking for routine dental care, he might be okay, but if you need orthodontic treatment, I highly recommend going to a specialist from the start. I've tried on at least four different occasions to speak to someone from this office. I walked in their office twice, and no one acknowledged me. People were in the building but never came to the front. No one was sitting at the receptionist desk. They don't answer their phone, and they do not return calls. I even tried to reach out through their website, and I never got a response. I currently go to a different dentist in the same building and was looking for another dentist in the same office. Honestly I'd been really terrified of dentists and coming here I was mortified by the amount of work I needed. They are incredibly nice and patient with you and explain everything in detail. They don't try to sell you anything you don't want or need. The people here are amazing and I can honestly say that I no longer fear the dentist. Well partially because I'm still human haha... If you search for a Denti-cal dentist, Dr. Vasquez's name appears. And you think, "whoa, this guy has great reviews for a Denti-Cal dentist!" and so you make an appointment. If this is you, stop. Don't do it. Dr. Vasquez is a Denti-Cal Dentist in name only. He'll give you x-rays and then tell you you're on your own. His office will then tell you to go to a dentist in San Marcos where your treatment will be low or no cost, but if you go through him the dental work you need will be 3k. But here's the thing: the other dentist's office they tell you to go to is just a regular dentists office, like Dr. Vasquez's, so why is this other office allegedly so much cheaper? I'm sure Dr. Vasquez is fine, I guess, for the wealthy or well-insured. If you're neither, save your time and energy and go somewhere else. read more

I've had 2 appointments with them. They were late to start both times, which I do understand happens so that's not a big deal by itself. The second time I waited an hour before the Dr saw me and then they weren't able to do the cleaning I came in for, just the X-rays and exam. I ended up spending over an hour and a half just to get X-rays and a 5min exam. The cleaning was the main thing I came in for but they just cancelled that on me (btw, if a customer cancels on them they charge you but they can just cancel services on you without warning.) As I was leaving we tried to reschedule the cleaning and they only had 1 spot open over the next 2 months! Since I had a meeting during that one spot they wouldn't be able to see me again for 2 months. My time was wasted. Switched from Dentist I had in Torrance, CA to Dr. Vasquez here in Oceanside, CA where I live now. About a month ago went for a cleaning and a reschedule for a composite resin coating to a upper rear tooth. I was a bit worried about what goes into a resin composite sitting there in my mouth. Not the same business I used to go to. It once was a fun inviting environment but has dropped in the last few years. It started with the two employees at the front desk arguing about a second insurance and benefits for a customer so I could hear. Bad sign of what was to come. I was once able to get my appointment knocked out in one shot, not anymore they want you to do exams, cleanings and anything else on other days. They don't have much availability so they booked me for a Friday and Tuesday. They canceled me Friday the day before, I was okay with it. I call because I can't comedy Tuesday because of work. Now there's a problem. They were very comfy able making me come multiple days, changing my appointment but I need to cancel is where they draw the line. 50 bucks later I'm moving on, they lost their ability to take care of their patients and lost my wife's and my business read more

I discovered Dr. Vasquez over 10 years ago when looking for a dentist for my daughter. He was the only one I found who had the confidence to do a procedure for her without an anesthesiologist and therefore saved me a lot of money. Also his investment in technology was unlike anything I had ever seen. Since then I have been back many times and have had great service. Today, beyond all expectations, he took care of a problem with a crown that was two years old. I am in no way sure that he was responsible and I expected to pay, but he insisted on taking care of it and I am very grateful. Also, I am impressed with his hygienist Lucy. I normally only review restaurants, but I had to do this business as this guy is a miracle worker. My dentist here told me I had a couple of deep pockets and that I would probably need an implant, so he referred me out. The referral dentist said he would have to remove four teeth, do implants, Bridges, and bone inserts. I told him I would get a second opinion. He told me don't bother, there's no doctor in the states that would do anything to my teeth, but what he said. A friend of mine told me to go see his brother in Oceanside California, AND it was so worth it. He was able to immediately do minor surgery to clear out the infection, laser the area, Insert bone, and saved all of my teeth!! I came back and had the sutures removed, and everything came out great. The customer service there starting with Rosa and Lulu are the best. First off, I appreciated that after my last less-than-stellar review I was promptly contacted by Dr. Vasquez's office manager (and lovely wife) Lulu, who got me a slightly earlier appointment with Dr Vasquez to put in the crown I needed. Turns out there was a genuine family emergency that had messed up his schedule, so I was impressed he came in on his normal day off to catch up with patients like myself who had acute issues that couldn't wait. Although I do have to go back to have my permanent crown installed (usually they can handle that in a single visit), I'm not going to knock my rating down because it was a genuine technical issue with the oven that "bakes" the permanent crown. As soon as Dr Vasquez noticed the issue he promptly had his Cerac machine print out a quick temporary crown that didn't need the "baking" process so I could get going and pick my kids up from school on time (even though the temporary crown feels no different & just as durable as the final product.) In short, I remain impressed by the cutting-edge technology Dr Vasquez has invested in to create the best experience & results for his patients, and still consider him the best dentist I've ever been to. read more

Dr. Vasquez has a confident and calming "bedside" manner and explains your options clearly. He is really at the top of his game with crowns, I've had 4 drs place crowns for me and it is not a fun way to spend the afternoon! Crown from FLA dr. needed multiple adjustments (which can be normal), LA dr: took 4 hours and multiple shots to install and then the crown broke within a month! Another dr. was fine but used the old technology. The ones from Dr. Vasquez are faster, less painful and reasonably priced. He trains drs all over the world on the new same day crown technology. Both hygienists do an excellent job. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Office is clean and comfortable with the latest technology. They even offer a payment plan if you need a lot of expensive work. What more can you ask from the dentist? I live in LA and drive 90 miles to the office and feel its worth it. read more

Originally I made an appointment here because I read the great reviews about Dr.Vasquez. Another dentist worked on me for my appt, even though I came for Dr.Vasquez. He did a great job numbing me which is typically a difficult part for me. I had more work to get done and stopped by to ask about the discrepancy between what my insurance says vs their estimate of what l would pay for some future work I need. They said their financial person was busy and they'd have her call me. She never did. Months later I call back and ask the same, oh shes at lunch we will have her call you. I have been going to this dentist for the past 7 years. Dr. Vasquez is great, but after yesterday's appointment it looks like I won't be coming here again. I have been going somewhere else for my orthodontist because getting orthodontic work with Dr. Vasquez is very pricy. I was scheduled for a cleaning and the hygienist at Dr. Vasquez told me I would need my wires off so they can take better x-rays for my teeth. I had my cleaning and was told that I needed a filling for a cavity. I was not told that I had to keep my wires off for the filling and the receptionist said I can come back at 1:30pm.I go to my orthodontist to have my wires put back on and then go back to Dr. Vasquez for the filling. When I got back to Dr. Vasquez I was told that I needed the wires off. This was when they should of told me before. The doctor asked how long it would take me to go to the orthodontist so I can get the wire off because she couldn't do the filling with the wire on. This was a hassle for me because it was driving back and fourth. I called my orthodontist and they said they would do the filling instead. When I went with my orthodontist, she did a couple of x-rays on the tooth that needed the filling just to double check. Guess what? Their was no cavity! The point is that Dr. Vasquez charged me for something that was not necessary at all and they wanted the money. This made me upset. I called the office for a refund and the receptionist sounded rude. I am so unhappy with my experience here. To start their automated system calls you everyday to remind you of your appointment 10 days prior. you get multiple emails a day. secondly, Dr. Vasquez did work on my teeth that I did not need done. after two separate opinions, I needed a root canal not an on lay. third, when I asked for my x-rays and records their office staff has completely ignored me! 4 days in a row I have reached out to them and they refuse to provide me with the forms I need to release this information. Just because this dentist has all state of the art equipment, doesn't mean he isn't out to just get your money nor does it make him a good dentist. Thank god I put this charge on my care credit card because it is now being disputed since I was able to provide them with opinions from other dentist. Please make sure if you DO need a root canal, don't go to a "Dentist" they do not specialize in Root canals. If this were the case, Dr. Vasquez would of known I needed a root canal and not some 700.00 filling. Ridiculous ! I feel completely taken advantage of. So i scheduled an appointment but I wasnt very sure to go because they never told how much it was going to be for the first visit and didn't know how much it was, receptionists are very rude and impolite, i told her i was paying out of pocket and she wouldn't tell me how much so i desided to cancel but i was recently in a car accident where my son had to be airlifted to children's hospital and had lots of things going on so days passed and i forgot to call and cancel. On the day before the appointment i had to apear in court and they don't let you have your phones on, so later in the day they call me and again with a very bad and unprofesional attitude because i asked her again how much would it be because we are uninsured and she dint say how much so i said i rather cancel but she said its too late to cancel and now i owe them $50 for not canceling on time even though i told her my situation she still dint care. So just be very carefull with them' they never ever told me there was a $50 cancelation fee even when i schedule the appoiment so i'm glad we aren't going to go with them as they dont seem to be as honest as i thought they where. They called my mothers house to let me know that my insurance has expired and I would have to pay a $50 fine to cancel because I didn't let them know 24 hours prior to the appointment they made me.
