I was so pissed. Yes I had called around to other lawyers and gotten rates of $1800 and $2000 but to go from $1200 to $21000 is so messed up but I needed it set up immediately so I just said fine out of pure exhaustion. But it's just leaving a completely bitter taste in my mouth about the whole thing. It was also incredibly annoying how he wouldn't listen and kept pushing me to make the payout from my trust to just once or twice a year. I started out monthly but gave in and said quarterly and three times THREE times I had to say no I didn't want it to go any longer than quarterly. I won't be using him again for anything else. Even though there are several business matters I need a lawyer for. Do not recommend. Wow, first meeting and just extremely rude for him to remark on my appearance. I am completely regretting using him.

I heard the commercial on a local radio station and it sounded like this law firm would…read moreaggressively look out for my best interest, that was not the case. It started with a good pitch man/closer who made it sound like they would be exactly what I was looking for. The attorney that was assigned to my case was a nice guy, but long story short, I spent $1800.00 and all I got was aggravated. It started when I received the first child support worksheet and I realized that he had the amount of my income wrong. He had my tax returns, but couldn't find my income on them. I pointed out the mistake and he fixed it, but then tried to bill me for not only both times that he did the worksheet, but also for the email exchange that discussed the mistake and correction. He then sent a stock letter that I was charged $141.00 for , that pretty much said if we couldn't reach a settlement, we would have to go to court, which seems like common sense to me, that is why I hired an attorney. There were two different possible outcomes with the child support worksheets that he gave me, the fist was a lot the other about $100.00 more. After I decided to fire Cordell and Cordell and hire another attorney, I found out that the Cordell and Cordell attorney did the child support work sheet all wrong, gave me no credit for the time that I had my boys, which was 52% of the time and no consideration for my paying for private school. I found out that I wasn't supposed to be paying child support at all. So if I had continued with Cordell and Cordell, it would have cost me several hundred dollars a month on top of the legal fees. I got a call from Cordell and Cordell asking me to rate the company, when I told the woman how unhappy I was with the service, she said that she would make sure it got to someone who mattered, maybe it did, but I am still out $1800.00 and haven't heard anything else from them. My next stop will be the BBB to file a complaint. I hate to trash a company publicly, but this can only be considered false advertising and fraud. Steer clear of this company and ask around before hiring any attorney.

At the time of the transaction, my family and I asked that I digital copy be sent to me digitally so that I could keep record, as well. We were told that a copy of the document would be uploaded to their practice management portal, to which I would receive a client login to access documents at anytime. Fast forward to today when I attempted to access and send a copy of the document to my grandfather's insurance broker, on behalf of my family. The document had not been uploaded. I called the practice for assistance but was met with a very callous and condescending office manager, who apparently was disgusted with my lack of knowledge on estate planning (I'm only 33, my apologies for my lack of knowledge). She cut me off at every attempt I had of asking valid questions. I finally pointed out how rude she as being, only to be told that she didn't have time to speak to me and hung the phone up. I was able to call back and speak to an attorney and get help with the issue. It think that it bears stating that the level of customer service and assistance that I received from the office manager is never acceptable. Especially given the fact that I maintained my sense of professionalism throughout a call where the same was not being reciprocated. I mentioned how disappointing my initial interactions with the office manager were, to which he repeatedly brushed off my concerns. While I appreciate his intervention, as the family member of a client and the actual payee, my concerns felt invalidated. I would ask that in the future, Peggs Wheeler do better with the care of their treatment of others. I understand that the employee may have had a bad day that maybe had nothing to with me, but it's never okay to treat others the way that I was.
