Just outstanding! While in LA we visited the shop for drapery for our Queen Ann historical home in Mississippi. The circular front window need a valance , cushions and pillows. The l sitting room needed elegant silk drapery with heavy temperature blocking backing and finally one of the bedrooms need 3 sets of drapery. This was the first place I walked into and was very taken with all the beautiful fabrics and colors. However, since it was the first shop on my little adventure, I wanted to look at other options from the neighboring stores before making my final decision on what fabric to get. I ended up coming back to Daniel. The shop has a vast selection of high-quality fabrics. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. Daniel was very nice and quite patient with me as I decided on a fabric, but he did increase the price of the fabric I chose from $14.50/yard to $20/yard. Quickly went back to the original price when I pointed this out to him, but not without telling me what a great deal I was getting for such a fine fabric. I was tired and hungry by the time I got back to his shop after walking around the area for such a long while that I didn't even realize he tacked on six more dollars to the final price. I definitely think his shop is worth going into, but just watch out and be aware that Daniel might try to pull a quick one on you. I spent $49 on fabric that should've cost me $43.50. Especially since I paid cash to avoid tax. read more

Love the custom roller shades for my son's room! They had such a variety of fabric choices, shades were delivered in about a week, easy to install myself, Daniel was so lovely to work with and best of all I got 3 CUSTOM shades for LESS than the price of standard ones at Home Depot...and Home Depot didn't have nearly the selection Daniel does. I'm going back in a few months for remote control shades which are a FRACTION of the cost my friends told me they paid for the same. Why another amazing review? See the before and after pictures! At first, I was hesitant as there's only one Leather Upholstery Review. I have modern taste; I only saw ornate intricate Upholstery posts. All I can say is, the finishing and craftsmanship are outstanding. Daniel has keen sense of aesthetic and will work with you; as he recommended (if you take a close look at the white chair's trims; they are studded while piping just doesn't work). He also made sure the cushions are reinforced so they are plump and comfortable; Hubby is a happy camper! If I could give this business -0 stars I would. I paid to have curtains and a curtain rod made. Daniel said it would be ready the following week. It rained the next two weekends so I didn't drive up to LA (I live in San Diego). I went back and my items were not made, he wasn't in the office. The person there called him on the phone, to ask him for the items, he wanted to see the receipt which I had already shown the person in the store who also read the order to him over the phone. That wasn't good enough he wanted me to send him a screen shot of the receipt! I told him to keep his fabric and return my money, he refused. I filed a complaint with the BBB which he did not respond to it. I am taking this to small claims court. read more

The owner only had 5 yards, but I needed 9 so the owner placed a larger order and told me it would be ready the next day. I went back a week later to pick it up however, because that's when I could pick it up. Upon arriving, someone met me at the front to load the yards in my car. OMG where do I start... Do not shop here this guy is a crook! He sold me a bunch of fabric that he said was outdoor fabric. So I paid a bunch of money for the fabric, then paid more to have all my outdoor furniture re-done in that fabric. It did not even last 2 months! It completely faded and started falling apart. I went back down to this fabric shop and spoke with the owner thinking he would make it right.I was very wrong. The owner not only refused to give me a refund, but he also wouldn't switch out the material. Then he told me to take him to small claims court if I'm unhappy. He also stated that his son is a lawyer and it won't cost him anything. Wow, there goes $1,100 right down the drain. Horrible company! read more

I ordered up my customized curtains from this store and specifically told the owner that I wanted the bronze ring. I picked it up today and went back home but the ring they put was in silver. So I called the owner to tell him that they put the wrong color. His suggestion? Buy a colored marker and color it myself. What kind of customer service is that???!!!! I love this place!! I moved to L.A. almost 2 yrs ago and bought a big ole vintage house in the West Adams neighborhood. My house said, "I want classic quality furniture...but make it lived in and stylish..." and my pocketbook said, "I want it affordable." Not knowing where to begin, I followed the energy and drove around, found parking and walked....straight into Daniel Home Decor. It was the first place I landed and never looked anywhere else. I bought my 1922 Spanish colonial revival corner lot home with the craftsman interior without consideration to the fact that I now owned a home with 46 WINDOWS! The first jobs I gave him were to make and install drapes on my 2nd floor windows so my bedrooms would have privacy and warmth during the winter months. His salesperson Mike, took one look at me and walked over to a gorgeous blue and gold toned Italian brocade with hints of shiny gold thread woven into it. It was love at first sight. (I like Mike, don't get me wrong, but the fabric and I are still having a love affair that gets better with each passing hour of the day as it changes color with the mood of the sky.) There was another Italian fabric I fell in love with and had him make an eastern king duvet and decorative pillows for my master bedroom. Frankly, it was slightly less than buying an entire set at Macy's and custom!! Daniel's next task was to do the vast majority of the ground floor windows. 13 silk swags with linen Roman (relaxed) shades in natural linen color. Each piece was beautifully done. One piece was a bit too low and he quickly fixed it to appease me. By now I was familiar with his upstairs showroom, which is a collection of auction bought pieces...some contemporary but most are antiques. I had him reupholster a vintage (probably 1930's settee) in midnight blue velvet and it turned out drop dead gorgeous! My living room was getting more style than I had ever imagined and for very affordable prices with unbeatable turnaround times on the reupholstering. (Nov) One day, I dropped by to see what he had for dining room chairs. Well, nothing really spoke to me and I passed. Daniel called me a few days later...he was at an auction and sent me a photo of some amazing dining room chairs. They were exactly what I wanted! "Brand new in excellent condition; linen, modern take on a classic design". He got them at a fantastic price and I had them in time for my party. Still needing another high quality sofa, I went back recently to see what he had in stock. He excitedly showed me a spicy red low sofa with gold and cream medallion pattern I was slightly taken aback by it. It had three camel humps in the back and curved arms...no pillows. Never had uncertainty hit me like this. It was more color and pattern than I was considering but it was the right color and again, high quality. Bulletproof quality! (I have two little kids... Yeah, I know, what was I thinking with velvet on the settee?!!) I sat in it and all uncertainty disappeared. It was a conversational sofa...the kind you tuck your leg under yourself and rest your arm across the back and feel like it was made for your unique 5'2" body. I quickly threw all the throw pillows I could locate in his showroom on it, discovered it hid the camel humps and transformed it into another stunning piece. It was a high end quality piece; solid hardwood frame and expensive fabric that was immaculate. On the spot I knew that I could live with this red sofa with the right pillows. I took a photo and went home to study it in my living room. It was a magical fit! That's the kind of stuff Daniel gets into his store. Now I have a USC red sofa with gold pillows under my large picture window and a UCLA blue and gold settee at right angles to it. (eyeball rolls) Thankfully, the bold Heriz handmade Persian carpet ties it all together! LOL. Speaking of Persian carpets, Daniel often gets some beautiful ones from estates and resells them at affordable rates. I have my eye on one for my daughter's room.... Bring photos on your cellphone of the windows, beds, pillows, furniture problems you want help with. He has a great eye for this stuff. He gives good rates and turnaround is quite impressive. Thank you, Daniel for all your help with getting my home decorated. I sure appreciate you working with my budget so I can still have a beautiful, designer home. I'll be back very soon! I often park across the street on the roof of the corner building. They often have a $5 All Day parking. I find it is the cheapest.
