I love the new look!! I have only visited this location twice within the past few months, and on each visit they had everything I needed including helium. I cannot say this for all locations, but I am rocking with this one. The employees are friendly and eager to assist. I love it here! Parking - plentiful. But as of a few months ago I guess it was waiting for someone to occupy and that's where Halloween City comes in to play. I believe the Halloween City has been here and opened for at least 2 maybe 3 weeks now. And I must say I do believe this is a first for Portsmouth, VA. It seemed like before, Halloween City locations were set up in every city in Hampton Roads except Portsmouth. But no need to fret any longer Halloween City is here and they're fully stocked. Well it looked like they were to me. The workers were standing by to offer any assistance. And the manager or owner of the store was jovial from the moment I walked in until the time I left. And he promised me a coupon when I return next time! Now I must say, it was maybe 2 handfuls of guests shopping last night so crowd control was superb for the workers. I can only imagine as the holiday nears it's going to be craaazy getting into there. And parking is decent right now. But as volume increases not sure how the parking will hold up... It'll be interesting to see. Nevertheless, go shop now while most sizes are still available and parking isn't an issue. They're offering 20% off of a single item (coupon needed). Costumes for everyone are here. Masks! Tats! Decor! Just go see. The spacing of the aisles are ok. Some areas are tight in maneuvering, but it's not a huge deal. It's Halloween it's all fun anyway. So squeeze through those aisles and enjoy your browsing or shopping experience! ! I'm just excited it's a new location and it's in Portsmouth! ! Bad Situation Turned Good…read more This past Friday, November 17th, I purchased two Andis products from this store (1 Andis Profoil Shaver /1 Andis T-Outliner). To my dismay after returning home, while attempting to turn on the T-Outliner, I found it to be inoperable. Unable to return the product that day due to a weekend trip out of town, I returned to the store today to exchange this product and to ask about the possibility of exchanging the "Andis" Shaver for a "Wahl" Shaver. Upon my return to the store, I had a negative experience with "Jay", the store manager. He questioned me (did you drop it?) and alluded to me being untruthful after seeing a hair follicle on the side of the T-Outliner (which may have been picked up from my bathroom while using another product). After some back and forth, between myself, my brother and Jay, Jay tested the product and confirmed that it did indeed not work. He tested another T-Outliner and allowed me to exchange the defective product for the working one. Consequently, after Jay opened the box for the Shaver, he identified hair shavings inside the blade opening, keeping in mind I had not opened the box. I was shocked by this. Jay informed me that he could not exchange the shaver and that the new Outliner was non-returnable. After this interaction, I was angered and very offended. I quickly decided to call back to the store to gain the owner's contact information to further discuss the matter. After making several attempts to call, I finally got in touch with someone. To my dismay, it was Jay, the associate I had interacted with prior. Jay informed me that he was the owner. I explained to him how I had felt about his rudeness and after several minutes of talking, Jay apologized and informed me that he would accommodate my need to exchange the shaver. Long story short, Jay handled our altercation in a professional manner. He admitted that he had maybe based our interaction from past experiences from customers that tried to get over on them. I definitely understand this viewpoint, as I have worked customer service for several years. Overall, Jay made my day by taking time to hear me out and assisting me. I will definitely return to this store just because of how this young man handled this situation. He owned up to his mistake and helped me out in the end.I have much respect for him and his willingness to turn a bad situation into a very positive one. Thanks Jay! You've gained a repeat customer in me. Shop here!!!

They repaired my Dyson vacuum that had been broken for a few years at a fair price. The customer service was top notch too! They work on almost any type of machine. Unsure about new sales as I was not in the shop long. It very hard to find these type of places, support them as they are a local business. My Dyson is now up and running and I plan on using them again soon on another vacuum that needs a tune up.
