On Saturday, we rang asking was a deposit required prior to the car being ready (2 days from then). Ollie then informed us that he sold it to couple from Galway. We're aware money hadn't changed hands but Ollie made a gentlemen's agreement which he broke for an alternative offer.

I purchased a 191 Range Rover Discovery 2L from Mallow Road Motors ((MRM) - Citroen Division)) in…read more2023 for €39,000. A year later, I decided to change it because it was heavy on diesel. When I rang around the various dealers, to my horror I was being offered €10,000 to €14,000. Apparently the model I have is prone to engine failure which was not disclosed to me by MRM. When I queried this with MRM, they said they were aware of the issue with this model but had the car fully checked out at the time and were happy there were no issues! I'd love to know what process went into determining the engine wouldn't fail in the future considering the engine failure experienced in these models was sudden with no warning signs. For legal reasons, the above was allegedly not disclosed by MRM because when I later raised this point with them, they denied knowing there were any issues with this model when selling the car to me. For information purposes, I did contact the previous owner (who sold the car to MRM as a trade-in) and this person did confirm the engine issues with this model was discussed. MRM said they would buy the car back as a trade-in so I was hoping as a gesture of good will they would offer approx. €25,000 which represents a €14,000 drop in the price I originally paid. To my disgust, MRM proceed to offer me €12,000 as a trade in which represents a reduction of €27,000 in ONE YEAR. Is this not the lowest of the lowest behaviour. I feel sick in my stomach when I think about it. How do these car dealers sleep at night. Now I'm stuck with the car as I cannot afford to take such a hit. The message here is to do your research on a car your thinking of buying and never trust a car dealer as they are driven by greed.

He was really hard to deal with and i was ready with a deposit and trade in to buy the car. I would not recommend them to deal with and felt completely belittled and worthless. Maybe if the car trade slows down they might value their customers more. Prehaps a bit of customer service/business development training may help keep future customers. Im very happy now after getting 5k more for my car from another garage who were great to do business with. Im looking forward to my 222 car. Big lose to you Nyhan motors as my company have alot of cars on the road and wont be sending business your way again.

Family owned and run, with that special feel that a family business has but efficient with it. We were only visiting there part of the world so there was little too no chance of a sale but they promoted the Mazda name with pride to us. If we lived in Macroon we would look at Looney Car Sales first for our new car without dout.
