Too funny, if wasn't so pathetic. The manager of this place is Debby K. The very same person that posted a a positive (and self serving) review here. By the way this is the same person that fills in as the opening bartender for the business on slow weekday afternoons and generally ignores daytime customers because as someone else stated, is on her phone or doing the books for this dive rather than taking care of customers. She is a poster child for "Bar Rescue" managers.
Unless you like cooking shows don't ask to put on the news on the tv in an otherwise empty bar during the early afternoon hours when she is present or anything else for tht matter as she will more than likely grudgingly turn one tv to the news but turn off the volume so she can continue to hear her cooking shows undisturbed on the other half dozen screens. Some sports bar, right?
Although they used to have a great bunch of bartenders handling the evening and weekend hours, those folks have since moved on. The owner has jammed the place with gambling machines that are horribly distracting with the glaring lights (this place used have a comfy Irish pub atmosphere and even when busy, the crowd was fun to be around) and most weekdays/weeknights or even on slow weekends the place is mostly empty except for what I call the gambling zombies. Seriously, sometimes they are not even bar patrons, just people that walk in off the street to use the gambling machines and leave without interacting (creepy).
The smoking area in the back now is often as much a toking area with the late night and weekend crowd. Although the weekday and Sunday afternoon crowd is mostly a rough bunch of semi-skilled tradesmen. Wannabe Archie Bunker types without the charm portrayed by Caroll O'Connor. While I wouldn't label them as someone else here did as Klansmen, the word troll does come to mind.
As final thought, I do think having replaced Karaoke (as kitsch as that may be) with Bingo on Friday nights is a sign that you should take a pass and spend your date money somewhere else. read more
