Threshers wine shops always remind me of my teenage years, trying to sneak in and get away with…read morebuying a few bottles of cider without being asked for ID! They remain traditonal off licences where you can browse the wine racks, ask advice, place special orders, and appear to dying off in favour of the brasher, cheaper bargain basement off licences. I still enjoy visitng this Threshers, the service is good, friendly and helpful, and they stock an excellent range of wines, beers and spirits. they may be a little bit pricier than the supermarket, but they have much better quality products, if you're keen on your wine.

I don't really know why Drinx is spelt with an 'x' and not 'ks'. I guess they thought 'Drinks'…read morewasn't an imaginative name enough name for an off-licence, so they decided to be a bit edgy and spell it with an 'x'. Maybe they thought this sort of poor spelling would attract a young clientele, who knows. Anyway, Drinx is a moderately-sized off-licence located in Maghull's square and offers the usual modest selection of alcohol that you would expect from an off-licence of its kind. The prices aren't particularly cheap but as with most places like this, you're paying a little bit extra for the convenience (and them not being warm, usually). There is the usual selection of lagers and bitters available but nothing too obscure generally and the range of wines on offer is fairly extensive. If you're looking for the cheapest deals possible then you should probably head to the nearest supermarket but if you're in a rush then Drinx isn't too bad a place to go to.

I always question alcohol that comes from a shop that doesn't know how to spell. (What's with Drinx, Boozze, Boooooooz, etc???) Either way, I wouldn't shop here with a 39 1/2 foot pole as the Grinch might say. Don't get me wrong. I like independent grocery shops. But this one is kinda dinky to be put it kindly. They could use a good tidy up job and maybe some new paint outside. The same goes for their neighbour.

I don't really get why they're prefer to call it Booze Buster though, it makes it sound like they're some kind of company that takes away or confiscates booze, much like some kind of prohibition force or something. In reality, Booze Buster is in fact an off-licence so if anything they're encouraging you to drink a lot, or at least buy a lot anyway. The shop itself is quite small and dingy but it does the job as it offers a decent selection of beers, wines and spirits at fairly competitive prices, even if they are a bit more expensive then what you'd pay if you went to a supermarket. The staff in there are helpful enough if you need them but don't expect them to come up to you and ask you how your day has been or anything. Not that something like that really bothers me much though.

Booze Buster is an off licence in Maghull, situated near the Meadows pub and shopping area…read more They have an excellent range of beers, wines, spirits, ales, alcopops, soft drinks, snacks and confectionery. They often have lots of special offers on which can make it very cheap indeed. The prices overall are inexpensive, similar to what you would find in a Bargain Booze. The staff are friendly and helpful. The shop can get busy but the staff serve customers quickly and efficiently.
