    No toppings blizzard

Good thing we paid for double toppings. Surely didn't want a plain vanilla blizzard. This is the third time now someone wanted to be funny and put the bare minimum toppings in the blizzard. Thankful Andy's is right around the corner. We will not be wasting anymore money at DQ.

Just your basic dairy queen fast food restaurant. We decided to go inside to eat thinking it would be a quick experience. Nobody was in line - which was good. We quickly picked something out to order and stepped up to the counter. I felt so bad for the kid but there were 5 other employees - all of which were barely helping our kid with the order....and he kept saying sorry it's my first day. For goodness sake - help the kid and train the kid! After 5 min of him apologizing and getting our order correct - it came out hot and fresh. Restaurant was clean but empty due to Covid. Good portion size.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough BLIZZARD Treat with Red Velvet added

First off I know this will just get responded to with a cookie cutter message, just like they have all been responded to, shows the true care of running a business. Do not come here. Got in line tonight to get 2 medium blizzards. There are two other cars in the drive thru, so I'm thinking we hit the Jackpot. NOPE! Only two people on staff running inside AND drive thru and cooking. This is my last and final time visiting this store. Took 25-30 minutes to just reach the window from placing the order. We pulled up to the window and watched these two employees bust their butt to keep your company running but no manager on sight working along side of either of these people. My blizzard wasn't made until we had sat at the window for 10 minutes, then sat on the counter while my husband's was made. He asked for chocolate ice cream in his blizzard, well, machine needed more liquid which is fine, but when they handed out our blizzards, they flipped my husband's but DID NOT flip mine. I knew exactly why because it was liquid. We live exactly 3 mins door to door from this place and I walked in to looking at flavored milk in a cup for my blizzard. I'm done trying to give this place a chance. This is a picture of my blizzard after 15 mins in the freezer still milk.

A very tired and worn-out restaurant chain. I ordered their summer "special" and let me tell ya... ain't nothin' special about it. I ordered the Brownie and Oreo Cupfection and the Brownie tasted like it was chilling in the back of their kitchen fridge for days. If you want quality ice cream, go to a locally owned ice cream shop. Honestly, the McDonalds Mcflurry is a much better option than what I ate here today.

The "$5 buck lunch" is a very good deal. You get your choice of a chicken wrap, chicken strips, or a cheeseburger with fries, a drink, and a sundae. My order was ready in about two minutes. The burger tasted good, with a nice contrast between the warm burger patty and the generous amount of chilled lettuce and tomatoes. The service was friendly and helpful, while the dining area was clean with good background music.

Dairy Queen seems to be a dying breed of simple ice cream. Sad as I still crave my soft serves. This shop has recently upgraded the inside and out to the fancy new hot and cold logo. Servers are always teen kids, which is cool. They seem to have their smiles and enjoy serving. Even in the craziest times of too many customers want the addictive white stuff ughh... ice cream. :-) If the drive thru is long, go inside. Lots faster inside.

It's ok. Lots better service than the Gardner DQ. The 119th Olathe DQ is probably best. Still clean inside and out.

Wings: The garlic parm was the standout -- fresh, flavorful, and honestly better than my usual Buffalo Wild Wings order. The tikka masala didn't really taste like tikka masala (more like a standard BWW flavor), but it was still tasty. The only drawback was the size of the wings -- smaller than I expected. Next time I'll probably go for the 16 or 20 piece. Waffle: I picked the Belgian waffle with maple syrup dip. It came hot but not crispy, with just a dusting of powdered sugar. Still sweet and enjoyable, though next time I want to try the bubble waffle for something different. Fries: Got the seasoned fries on the side -- good flavor and seasoning, though like the waffle, they weren't super crisp. Still tasty on their own, but I would've loved an option to pick dips (ranch, queso, garlic parm, etc.) instead of just being handed four maple syrups. Extras & Drinks: They also offer mac & cheese or the bubble waffle as side options, plus unique teas and lemonades for $1 more, or milkshakes for $4.50. Prices on extra dips are $0.99 each. Overall, it's a fun and unique concept -- fair-style food in a neighborhood spot. The food is flavorful, not always the crispiest or warmest on carryout, but easily fixed with a microwave or air fryer. I'll definitely be back, especially to try the bubble waffle and maybe some loaded fries or wraps/buns during happy hour (2-4 PM).

This was the start of my love affair that still runs hot today. Excluding mom and pop restaurants, Jersey Mikes is by far the best of all chain restaurants. Jersey Mikes located off in Olathe was my first ever experience with the chain and forever etched it into my favorite chain for Subs! The hallmark of any great subshop is first quality meats and secondly them slice them to order. While a lot of shops now slice their own meats and cheeses, I believe Jersey Mikes was the first chain to do so (check me on that if wrong but I worked at Subway in the 90s and we didn't). With this info always in my mind, I'm always confident that no matter what Jersey Mikes I go to, it will be consistent and the way I like it, b/c I always order in person)! Next, they do bake their bread so another huge win in my book as most just proof up frozen bread which is devoid of the little touches. Finally, the owner was there and was an extremely friendly guy and genuinely excited to take my order! I admit, I'm a cold sub fiend and you can keep the hot subs (sorry Philly). I've literally had every one of their subs but I hold true to the original Italian. Every time I get mine, it's literally a salad on bread. A little bit of onion, lots of lettuce, tomatoes, a couple pickles, 2 japs, S&P, Oregano, lots of mayo, lots of oil, a bit of vinegar but I wish they had olives..... Mine is perfection, brought on by my countless visits and endless tinkering. Good thing I don't work there! My kids got the ham and swiss with just mayo. Granted they're young but I'm not going to argue with them if they're happy. As for the Xwife (sorry a slight lag in writing this) she got the turkey & cheese with mayo, lettuce and tomato. While she didn't die..... she did love the sub (sorry dark humor there). It was our go to spot for many years. Also note they used to serve pizza! That's correct, they were one of 3 pilot Jersey Mike's to serve pizza in addition to the subs. I'll be the first to admit, I thought it was pretty darn good and smart to combine the two American favorites. Alas they no longer serve pizza so you'll just have to opt for one of the many other options (my advice is Detroit style with Italian sausage, onions, tomatoes, olives). Back to the point the whole family was happy. In summary, the store is very clean and safe, while the staff are very nice. Admittedly if you've been to one Jersey Mike's you've basically been to them all. So, I'm basically here saying the say thing as a repeated record as I've lived all over the place and travel frequently. This store is on par with all other locations so shop in confidence you'll get the best sub around!

After volunteering at the nearby PetSmart adoption event, I finally gave Dave's Hot Chicken a try…read more-- glad to see they opened in Olathe! I went with Dave's #2 (two sliders + fries) and picked the Hot spice level (two below Reaper). The heat was perfect -- enough to make my mouth tingle without punishing me. Tempted to try "Extra Hot," but maybe those days were for my younger, non-acid reflux self. The sliders came stacked with juicy pickles, crunchy slaw, and Dave's sauce on a soft potato bun. The chicken strips themselves were big -- not the measly ones you sometimes see -- and definitely worthy of being turned into a juicy, satisfying slider. By the time I got home they were a little soggy, but not enough to ruin things. The flavor balance between spice, tang, and crunch really hit the mark. The fries surprised me -- I'm usually not a crinkle fry fan, but these were seasoned crispy, zesty, and honestly second only to Joe's BBQ fries in KC. Big win. Service-wise, the woman at the counter was amazing, handling the rush like a pro while cooks worked the back. My tip for management: add another front staffer and maybe a mic system, since the loud music made it hard for seated guests to hear order calls. That said, she didn't miss a beat, and I appreciated the extra sauces she threw in. I also loved that Dave's doesn't nickel-and-dime you for condiments -- the extra packets made both the fries and sliders better, and it kept everything from getting soggy. In today's world, it's refreshing to see a place that doesn't skimp or charge extra. The space itself has bold artistic vibes and limited seating -- feels more geared toward quick bites or takeout. Orders took a little time, but that's a sign of fresh cooking, not fast-food shortcuts. Verdict? Dave's officially dethroned Chick-fil-A as my spicy chicken go-to. Between the generous portions, customizable heat levels, standout fries, fair value, and strong staff effort, I'll definitely be back. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 as a kudos to value and just attentive, hardworking staff. Rounded my 4.5 up to 5 as a nod to the value and the hardworking staff who made it a great first visit.
