We were a table of four dining for brunch and had a reservation, so we were seated right away. The restaurant was busy but not overcrowded. It felt family-friendly, with several tables of parents and kids enjoying their meals. The interior was beautiful, especially the bar area, with bright, vibrant colors that gave off a distinctly Mediterranean vibe. The menu was well-rounded, blending Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Levantine influences. I ordered the goat cheese omelette, which they kindly prepared with egg whites. It was filled with a light layer of goat cheese and baba ghanoush -- an interesting and flavorful combination, definitely more exciting than your average omelette. It came with za'atar potatoes, which were extra crispy and delicious. My husband had the halvah French toast, which he loved -- the sweet shavings on top were a great touch. Our friends ordered the chicken schnitzel and a Benedict. The schnitzel was a generous portion and came with Israeli salad and fries. Overall, I'd say the food was very good -- this is definitely one of the better Mediterranean spots on the Upper West Side. It didn't completely wow me, but everything we had was well-executed, and the flavors were bright and satisfying. Service was excellent, and our food arrived quickly, especially for a busy Saturday brunch. Would I return? Absolutely. It's a great place to bring friends or out-of-towners for a lively, flavorful brunch in a pretty setting.

Delicious. We came here on a Saturday night with no reservation. We were quickly seated at the table and the food was so good. Hands down one of my favorite places I've eaten at all year.

Came here for brunch yesterday and had such a good time. Definitely make reservations as it gets busy over the weekend. Really cute decor inside. Service was good, our server didn't come around as often but I didn't mind that. We got the shakshuka, kubaneh, and french toast. Everything came out promptly and tasted delicious! The bread with the shakshuka was so fluffy and seasoned well. The kubaneh was so good, just wish they served it with labneh but that's only the large portion. The French toast was the highlight - crispy around the crust. Just wish it has more strawberries. Overall great place and would definitely come back!

A friend and I walked in on a Saturday without a reservation and were able to be seated immediately. The restaurant was pretty full so we were happy about that. The waiter was attentive by not pushy which I always appreciate. We split the Greek salad as an appetizer, it was a nice size but it was salty for some reason. I didn't add any dressing or salt to it myself. My friend had the branzino which was REALLY good. She let me taste it. :) I had the lamb which was OK, but a little tough. Overall, it was likely a 3.5 Stars for me.

Dinner at Dagon was one of my favorite dining experiences as of late. (Speaking of late) my friend ran 30 minutes behind for our reservation and the staff still treated me very kindly as I waited at the bar for her. To eat, I started with the Caesar salad and it might have been one of the best I've ever had. Then my friend and I split the roasted beets, eggplant, and green tahina. Everything was outstanding. Every aspect of this restaurant feels well thought out from the decor to the menu to the service provided. Dagon is a wonderful dinner option for Mediterranean food a seductive setting.

Tasty Mediterranean food in a comfortable room The Sahara Old Fashioned was a pleasant start to the meal. We enjoyed a selection of small plates with warm flatbread. The Ginger/Silan Chicken was also good. The service was attentive.

Gorgeous ambiance and great service. However the food was a let down. We went during the forgotten foods festival. The lamb fritter appetizer had too much dill and was not a balanced dish. The oxtail was not tender and the egg tasted strange. Wish the broth was thicker and more of a sauce. The chicken was over cooked. I appreciated the amount of olives though. The sauce was great. The bread was not the challah bread I know and was disappointing. The dessert was too sweet and the tahini left a bitter and strange taste in my mouth. As you get towards the middle with the ice cream it did get better. Overall was more excited to try this restaurant than how the food ended up tasting. At least the service was great.

Israeli breakfast (without bagel)

I visited here for brunch with friends and it was an awesome spot. The ambiance and decor is beautiful; very classy yet warm. Our server was a bit snarky, but more in a dry humor way than in a rude way, which was just a bit funny. I ordered the Israeli Breakfast because I really couldn't decide what I wanted it and it basically had everything on it. It was a TON of food, and I really should have split it with someone or taken home the giant bagel, but the bagel arrived warm! The potatoes were probably a highlight, in addition to the bagel. I'll note that my eggs did not arrive as ordered (I ordered over medium, and they came over easy), but I had already started eating when I cut into them and realized, and didn't bother telling the waiter and sending them back. Just didn't seem worth the hassle when I'm not an egg person and mostly ended up leaving them anyway. We ordered table French Toast when we ordered our savory mains, and he asked us whether we wanted it as an appetizer, with our mains, or as a dessert, which was nice. However, then it seemed like he forgot to put it in because he asked us about dessert menus later before the French Toast had arrived, and it took a while to come out. But it eventually arrived and it was delicious. Would recommend. My friend claims it's the best French Toast he's ever had, but I'm not sure I'd go that far. The espresso martini was also delicious; a little twist on the traditional, but not too avant garde--basically my favorite kind of espresso martini. The prices were on the high side, but this was a nice place, with great vibes, and the quality and portion sizes were there, so it would be hard to complain too much.

YUM!!! the bread is amazing and they give you enough to enjoy all the dips :))) love when that happens. the place is fancy so they serve your food quite slow i was quite starving but it's okay because once the dips came i filled up within 2 seconds. the presentation was gorgeous and service quite attentive. personally i found it over priced but maybe i just don't understand the cuisine enough to appreciate the value.

Shakshuka, comes with that delicious bread. Very good. 2/18/26

Lunch. Service was very good, very friendly. Larger portions. Food beautifully presented. Marinated beets. Extraordinary. Hummus. Great. Levantine "Caesar" with salmon. Terrific. Shakshuka. Very good but not as stellar as the other items. Bread served with most of these dishes - amazing. Totally loved it. Place was clean and looked nice. Mid-level on noise at lunch. Could imagine it being noisy at dinner but that is a guess. Enjoyed lunch a lot so for sure will go for dinner soon. Clean restroom on the main floor (did not use the rest rooms in the basement).

An Israeli IPA ? who knew ! We intended to order 5 separate entrees per normal, but the appetizers looked so enticing we couldn't help but order 4 of them, after that we weren't that hungry and only ordered 1 entree plus some wines and I had two of the excellent IPA's (look for the sloth) they let us eat everything family style and we didn't finish everything so took a little bit home for later, the portions were incredibly generous and we did not intend to eat (essentially) apps for entrees but we weren't really paying attention to how much food was coming. Anyway the bill was shockingly reasonable for a NYC dinner and us sitting for a long time. What a gem ! this place earns a "hidden gem" rating from me. Fun, wine, beer & food, family and a great price, thanks Dagon !

Charred octopus Flash fried cauliflower

Israeli food is one of my ultimate favorite cuisines and Dagon has been on my list for ages - finally ventured up to the UWS to check it out. Ambience: went here for dinner and it's super pretty. Nice ambient lighting. Tables were kinda tight and the gaps were pretty narrow but it's a nice dinner spot (and I imagine a brunch spot too) Food: so good. What we got: 1. 3 mezze: got the spicy feta, the beets, and the artichoke olive dip. Came with the flatbread. So good. The spicy feta was acidic and zingy. The beets came with a yoghurt labneh situation at the bottom and some tender beef tongue cubes. The artichoke olive dip was also good. The bread was killer. Warm with lots of zaatar 2. Charred octopus: perfectly cooked octopus with some squid ink sauce at the bottom and these good rice cakes at the side 3. Cauliflower: love a good cauliflower dish and these were yum 4. Lamb: so tender. So good. The pilaf was killer with the dates and other dried fruit. Lovely. Overall; Dagon's probably one of the best Israeli / Mediterranean places I've been to in NY. Would come back to try their other stuff tbh

Israeli salad. Can't go wrong with that!

First time to Dagon. Enjoyed what I had -- although I will say it's a bit heavy on seafood (I'm allergic, so can't enjoy any of it). I had Agu's Tunisian Cigar to start -- big fan. Then I shared a side of the flash friend brussels sprouts. That was more than enough for me! Other folks in my party had main courses -- the beef brisket was a big hit. If I'm able to go back, I'll probably try the crispy roasted lamb, which another friend had and really enjoyed. Affirming what someone else wrote -- especially on the weekend, nearby street parking was found easily, and it's not far from the subway or bus stops. Enjoy!

The food itself was bad -- like really bad. From start to finish everything missed the mark: The hummus was bland and tasted like someone forgot the spices. The doma (dolmas) were disappointing and didn't have the rich flavor they should. Even the baklava, which should be a sweet highlight, was dry, lackluster, and honestly not enjoyable. The Turkish coffee was so bitter it was almost undrinkable -- if you like bitter coffee, maybe it's your thing, but it wasn't what I expected. They market themselves as Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine, but what I ate didn't come close to what I'd consider good food in that category. My stomach was still growling afterward -- and not in a "I want more" way, but in a "why did I eat this?" way. The staff and service were fine and the atmosphere is pretty, but at the end of the day it's just not worth it when the food itself is so underwhelming. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for authentic or tasty Turkish/Middle Eastern food.

There were 7 of us The seating was cozy but not cramped. We started with 7 family style small dishes: Hummus with Falafel Pops (chickpea purée, tahini, falafel, olive oil), Spring Burrata (roasted cherry tomatoes, toast, basil oil), Hamachi Crudo (passionfruit vinaigrette, citrus zest, cucumber, mint, sesame tuile), Scallops (carrot puree, serrano pepper, brown butter sauce), Tenderloin Skewer (zaatar chimichurri, fresh herb salad), and Shiitake Stuffed Grape Leaves (tomato coulis, yogurt foam, herbs). Everything was delicious. The hummus was well seasoned the falafel had a nice crunch. It went well with the warm puffy gyro bread that came to the table. The burrata was wasm and creamy. I love the vinaigrette on the fish. I ended up eating most of it. The scallops were the sweetest, most tender ones I have ever had. The tenderloin skewers were tender and well seasoned. I liked the grape leaves but the rice consistency was very soft almost mushy and you can barely tell there were mushrooms. There was barely any mushrooms flavor. Next we all chose an entree. I got the duck breast, my husband and daughter each had the beef tenderloin. The duck breast was smaller than i expected. The skin was nicely seared and very crispy but boy did it give my jaw a workout. It was done medium rare. It was juicy but tough. The small beef tenderloin was tender and smoky. The waiter poured the sauce over the tenderloin for added flavor. Finally dessert was a fruit plate with ice cream and pudding. The fruit was fresh and the flavors of the ice cream and pudding unique. It was a nice end to a good brunch. The price was a little expensive at $85 a person.

The chicken Adana sandwich was also quite nice. The chicken was fresh and well seasoned in a good portion with some lettuce, onions, tomatoes as well. The bread was great. It's served with two wonderful, flavorful sauces: hot sauce and yogurt sauce (I much prefer the latter). Portion is incredible for the price. Then, I was initially interested in trying the fig pudding for dessert but they were out of it, so I went with the rice pudding. Again, a huge portion that is well worth the price. So creamy, so good. And, they brought out 2 Turkish teas for free to make up for not having the fig! The people are just very nice here, and the tea was also lovely, piping hot and just perfect. It's a pretty small restaurant but doesn't get crowded early on. They were playing some Turkish music while I ate, and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is cozy, elegant, and inviting -- exactly the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you're there for a quiet dinner or celebrating with friends. The quality of the food was outstanding across the board. I ordered the Sultani Kebab, which was perfectly grilled, beautifully seasoned, and incredibly tender -- every bite melted in my mouth. My friend had the Lamb Shank, and it was equally phenomenal: slow-cooked to perfection, falling off the bone, and bursting with rich, authentic Persian flavors. The saffron rice was fluffy and fragrant, the bread was fresh and warm, and even the appetizers and salads showed real care and attention to detail. We literally cleaned our plates -- not a grain of rice left behind! What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Musa, the manager, is in a league of his own. Despite the restaurant being absolutely packed on the night we visited, he handled everything with grace, professionalism, and a genuine smile. He made sure we were seated quickly, checked in on us throughout the meal, and made every single guest feel like a VIP. Musa and his team are a powerhouse -- incredibly strong, well-coordinated, attentive, and passionate about what they do. You can tell they take real pride in their work, and that energy radiates throughout the entire restaurant. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions, the premium quality of the ingredients, and the top-tier service. It's rare to find a place that nails all three -- food, ambiance, and hospitality -- but Ravagh absolutely does. My friends and I left feeling completely satisfied, well-fed, and already planning our next visit. If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting with a team that truly cares, Ravagh is the place. To drink, I ordered the Tehrani Mule; a take on the moscow with a house made ginger lime juice. 8/10; a tad watery. We decided to go family style with ordering and chose the mediterranean salad, kotlet, and falafel to start. The falafel was perfectly crisp with a slightly smoky outer crust that added really great texture and flavor. A bit dry tho -- Needed the hummus and Mezze Platter to dress it up a little. Salad was refreshing, crispy and a great palette cleanser across the table. The combo platter + mixed rice was fabulous. Chicken was tender and came right off the bone (something I'm new to but it was good!). It came with a side of tzatziki and persian zhoug (?) - a minty and herby chutney that just added another layer to the aromatics of the dish. Although the rice was great, it was a really large portion even for the group of 5. It would've been nice to have the option to split to a half portion of vegetables or different grain to balance quantity. Overall 8.9/10 - Definitely worth a visit with a group for business dinner or catching up on a friend's night out.
