Since it was winter time, it was much too cold to eat outside but I can imagine it would be beautiful to dine al fresco in the summertime. Even so, the inside of the cafe was quite romantic with the mini palm trees. I ordered the vegan carrot risotto and a Kyoto Romance green tea. The risotto completely exceeded my expectations. It was creamy and the carrot shavings on top were so crispy. I would highly recommend it to vegans and non vegans alike.

The card system was faulty and I was rudely gestured to get another one after trying multiple times with no fault of mine. Then the order was placed and when my pizza came it did not have smoked salmon as I had ordered. Instead of apologizing, the guy took my card reduced the amount for salmon and said bon appetite! The mere behavior shocked me so much that something like this can also happen in Munich. Only stars given for the nice guy serving drinks and the pizza dough being fresh

I have been travelling solo for the past couple of weeks so my happiness with the cafes and…read morerestaurants I have visited lately has been heavily dependent on my comfort eating there alone. Proximity is another key factor since I was on foot this particular evening. To summarize: Vapiano has acceptable food for people like me who are not very picky about their food. It was an easy place to eat alone and if I was back in this area in the future, I would consider coming back. I found a small table with a cozy chair and sat down with a book and a beer. Eventually I got up to order from the pasta station. There was plenty to choose from and I settled on a spicy all'Arrabbiata with penne. I ordered it extra spicy and as Elyse B wrote, I felt it was a solid average. The penne was unevenly cooked probably due to the small boiling contraption they use. Second, it felt a little awkward standing in line for 5 minutes waiting to order my pasta then stand there watching him cook for another few minutes. I get that this is one of the draws of Vapiano but I thought it was worth noting. I came here looking for a casual place to get a simple meal alone on a Friday. I felt completely satisfied with my experience.

Vapiano: sounds italian, serves italian dishes... but if you want to eat italian better go…read moreelsewhere. Vapiano looks really nice from outside and from inside, quite luxury in reality. At the entrance you receive a card and everything you take is charged on it, so you can pay at the exit. Even if you take only a coffee at the bar, that what I have done. Ok, the espresso was good, however making it is as hard as pushing a button on the coffee machine. But I take advantage of this to see it and I must say, Vapiano is much much much more nearer a fast food than a real restaurant. And looking at their pizza, I'd rather go to eat in a full-american Pizza Hut than there. Nothing else to add, I'm really disappointed of so-called restaurants that use a name just to appeal.
