That being said, it was a fun Italian meal complete with good food, wine and excellent company. There are two sections of the restaurant and our large group occupied half of the back dining room which became a semi-private space. While most of our group ordered Antipasti, soup and salad, I just focused on my entree, a baked pasta dish (Penne Paesana mit Fleischsoße und Béchamelsoße). The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere with an interesting mix of art and seating. The focal point of the main dining room is wood beams and a series of masks on one wall. Fitting since we were there during Carnival season. Service was fine and when we had one hiccup (they prepared the wrong fish dish for a couple of our diners), they realized the mistake prior to serving the meal and corrected it quickly. While I prefer to enjoy local cuisine when I travel, this was a good option in the old city. Rating is really 3-1/2 stars.

If you want a garden-like setting in a park to enjoy some wine and Italian food, then this is your place. The food and wine here are excellent/elevated. They have a number of specialty house pizzas, all of which read to be excellent. A Margherita is perfect for me though and they do it well here. As the food is elevated, the pricing is a little higher and the portion sizing is a bit small. But that's expected, I think for a place like this. On my last visit, the weirdly small (0.1L) wine pours took this review down to 4 stars. I swear I asked the server two times to please bring 0.5L for my wife and me to share and we still kept getting these 4-sip pours. Lost in translation, maybe.

I got the truffle pasta and it was dare I say one of the best pastas I've ever had. It was gooey with cheese and they shredded a generous amount of truffle on right in from of me. My husband got the pizza which is also said was on par with Pizzas we've eaten in Naples. The dessert was a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the food but still good. Overall the food was amazing and the servers were very attentive which I feel is rare in Germany. I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Baden-Baden.
