As such, with the involvement of the Police and my insurer, I have fortunately been in the position to get the work fixed at zero cost to myself... Step-in Lancashire Motor Bodies, saviour of the hour and supplier of some of the best customer service I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. True, I didn't have to shop around as they are the preferred repairer of my insurer, but I have to say that I was a little sceptical on first researching them as there were only a couple of aged reviews on the web (not on Yelp, obviously!) and these weren't exactly glowing. Well, my experience was different. On finding them, tucked away as they are in Salford, but only 30 seconds off Bury New Road, you could be mislead by the exterior of the business premises, as it isn't exactly glamorous, but then again, it is a car bodywork repairer! However, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They lead me through the whole process with my insurer, collected my car and delivered a courtesy car which was mine free of charge, phoned me regularly with updates on the work and again when it was finished. They even returned my car, resplendent with new front wing, fully valeted inside and out. I couldn't recommend them highly enough and think they are well worth every one of the 5 stars I'm giving them. I hope you don't require their services, but if you do, they'll look after you (and your car!).

If you know exactly what you want you might be ok, but the sales staff are rude and customer after sales is non-existant. I was sold an expensive part for my Land Rover and took it home only to find I'd been sold the wrong item. I immediately returned with the part and was told by staff that it's company policy not to offer refunds. I told them that their staff had sold me the part only an hour earlier and they then argued the part had been used (on my Land Rover it wouldn't fit?!). In the end I left the part with them and resorted to charging the purchase back on my visa card. AVOID!

In an emergency situation he has always accommodated my car into the garage and provided a courtesy car; never leaving me without transport. He always discusses anything extra he finds by phone prior to starting work when he has it in; he advises regarding how long something will be likely to last and leaves it with you as to whether you have it done on or not. I called 5 Star garage as it's close by. I have a L200 Pick up that had just got a green light…read moreflashing on the dash that was for the 44 (The 44 system itself worked perfectly, just the light). I booked it in on Christmas eve morning. At teatime they said they had diagnosed the fault to the 4 wheel drive switch. This would need replacing but after Christmas as they coulden't obtain the part till then. Cost for Diagnoses was £45. They then rang and said they had the part in the year year costing £62.50 more. I took it down and also told them the rear light near side lamp was out and could they replace it at the same time. They said yes. Shortly later they rang. we've fitted the Clutch sensor at £129 bill, but we now need to fit a different sensor as well now. £90 plus 1.5 hours labour !. Now if i'd know the green flashing lamp would have cost me £175 AND it would be EXCLACTLY THE SAME as when I Brought it in before Christmas DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD HAVE PAID AND BROUGHT IT IN. Halfway home I stopped to check the lamp they fitted the the rear light. I had to go back they'ed forgot to replace it. 5 Star serviceSorry Not this time. It's not going into this garage again.
