Brooke's patience, professionalism, skill, and artistic eye are evident in all of her pictures. Every time I'm in town visiting my sister she is my go-to person for pictures. She is very considerate and attentive to what I want but she's also not shy to give input or share her ideas on what she thinks will work well. What I love is that she goes through all the pictures after the session, picks the best ones to edit, then provides them on a USB flash drive and sends them to me in the mail wrapped in cute packaging with a sweet note. Her prices are very reasonable too!

Highlights: nice sitting outside on a mild day, great people sitting around us, friendly staff,…read morevery reasonable prices and AMAZINGLY seasoned crawfish. Call first...they are open until they sell out. If you want a more detailed version, keep going. ;-) On our way home from fishing at the coast, we stopped for a late lunch with my daddy. We saw this place last time we were in town, and being the crawfish lovers we are, wanted to try it. Needless to say we were super happy they were open today. Four of us showed up with an ice chest (it's BYOB), ready to roll up our sleeves. They only have outside seating on white plastic picnic tables. Most tables are under a large canopy, but some are in the sun. We were lucky to get under the tent AND it was a pleasant day. You go up to the window and order, sit down and they bring your food. We got a shrimp boil (served in a white clamshell) and six pounds of crawfish (served in double plastic bags inside a big paper bag) . They provide you with boxes for the shells, plenty of paper towels and wet wipes. We loved the set up, people were friendly, great vibe of folks...but we were most concerned with crawfish. We love crawfish, have our own boils, and we're picky. There are only a handful of places we really like in the Austin area, so I was admittedly a little skeptical. Holy mud bugs...the FLAVOR!! After a few bites, we picked up on what was a tad different than our normal crawfish...mustard. Yup...mustard! Don't freak! It was subtle, played well with all the other flavors and we LOVED it. So much we ordered three more pounds AND we're playing with our recipe to incorporate it. They don't offer different spice levels, but no need...the flavor was absolutely perfect with just the right amount of kick. We ordered with potatoes, corn and sausage...worth the extra $. Sausage was VERY good! We're already planning on making it back to Victoria before the end of crawfish season. I typed this on our way back to Austin and the amount of time we've spent talking about what we ate is a great indication of how much we loved it! So go... suck some heads and pinch some tails. You'll be happy.

We have stayed at this location many times. Overall, the price is very reasonable and the service…read moreis friendly. It's an up to date hotel in a good location near gas stations and across the street from a McDonalds. There are several Tesla charging spots in the parking lot and the hotel offers a free continental breakfast. On our most recent visit, there was a slightly negative experience. Our hotel room had blood stains on the bed sheets and the curtain track appeared to be old and damaged. We informed the front desk of these issues. They were very apologetic and immediately resolved the issue by giving us a new room. The new room felt like an upgrade and was quite large and very clean. We appreciated the staff fixing this issue so quickly. We would stay here again.

The staff are wonderful, accommodating and friendly. However, I have a bit of a mold allergy and…read moreall of the floors have a mold smell. I couldn't see the mold but it's there, somewhere. The A/C worked fine (air coming out smelled of mold) and I heard that the motel was completely renovated a few years ago however there is a mold smell on all of the floors. I'm assuming it's coming from the A/C-heating lines (?) as I didn't see any mold in any of the rooms we've been in. Or maybe it's in the carpet?? I say rooms (plural) because I reported the mold smell the first day we were there in our 3rd floor room to the front desk and they put us in another room on the 2nd floor however the smell was still there, not as bad. We had stayed here for a week in June (less of a mold smell then) and staff said management is working on addressing the mold smell. Downstairs by the check in desk and breakfast area, no mold smell. The air smelled of mold but didn't make me sick during the stay in May. But we returned in August for another week, and mold smell was still present and heavier. This time I had itchy eyes, a tickle in my throat and cough. The mold smell was not overwhelming but definitely still there. I didn't change motels because of past experiences with never getting a refund once you make a reservation and pay. It's a lot of $ and I couldn't afford to pay twice. If my symptoms were worse we would have left and actually other motels were already full. Everything else was great, breakfast was good, the rooms were otherwise clean. Close to the highway and plenty of parking. And all of the staff were wonderful but I won't stay here again unless I pop in for a few minutes next time and check the rooms before making a reservation in the future. FYI Motels will let you enter their rooms to check them out and I did visit 3 other motels in Victoria to see if nearby motels had the same problem (as Victoria is a very humid environment) but didn't smell mold at other motels. So, sorry LaQuinta staff, you're great!, and I'll stay here again if management can fix the mold problem. Hopefully management will see this and make repairs. I'll gladly remove my review when the repairs are made as I'll be visiting Victoria repeatedly. I really don't know why nobody else has mentioned this on Yelp or why the owners aren't doing anything about this.
