High Five to D & D Overhead Door We got three bids about the garage door at a home we own with one of our grandchildren. D & D Overhead Door was one of those bids because a while back a D & D Overhead Door truck and its driver actually stopped his truck for us when we were at a cross walk. We then did our due diligence in checking contractors license and any citations against it, then business license with State, then county then city, and then did a an internet search for complaints. Then we looked for Military Veterans Discount. Only D & D Overhead Door survived the due diligence test. They've had Nevada state contractors license number 0029883, Overhead Doors, since 11/21/1989. Truth is the highest virtue, but higher still is truthful living. --Sikh Guru Nanak. This business was truthful as: Showed up on time for the appointment Technician's customer service was adequate as did not park in our driveway (in case their truck leaked), did not reek of cigarettes and was not unfriendly nor was overly friendly; just clean and professional Cleaned up after themselves Charged us their bid price Delivered what they advertise No one here offered to commit fraud to reward us, pay us or compensate us for posting a 5 star review of this business. I rate 'em 3 stars. According to Yelp ratings' definitions, that's "Ok". That to me is an acceptable rating of something that does day in and day out what it is there to do. It's NOT a negative review because doing day in and day out what it is there to do is NOT an easy thing to accomplish. Unfortunately unable to leave a great review - we came here for a garage door and were assisted by Kent. He was so incredibly nice and helpful in the store, and was able to give us a quote with multiple options. The company also comes to your house to verify sizing and includes takedown of your old garage door which would have been awesome. Unfortunately, after speaking with him the first time, we said he would send over an official quote via email within the hour which never came until I called to follow up with him on Monday. Then we called three times and sent two emails with no reply to try to follow through with the purchase and never heard back so we had to move our business elsewhere. Super bummed to give the low review but we needed a garage door and this company didn't put in any follow through. read more

We called D&D Overhead Door when the chain on our opener became slack. It was 18 years old and nothing lasts forever. I spoke with Jason to schedule an appointment to have someone come out and look at it. We were lucky to have Greg give us a quote on a new door opener. As it turned out Greg was the installer as well. He is very good at what he does. He had the new opener installed in about 2 hours and cleaned and tidied up the old opener and garage floor. I was very impressed. He has a wonderful personality and is very professional. I called D&D to get my springs fixed on my garage door as they broke a week berore and i was trying to get them installed that day ahead of the snow storm we were about to have the next day. I was directed to Jason. Jason made sevral calla to their techs to see who could come out and change my springs. An hour or so passed and Jason called back to let me know that one of their techs were on their way out. Chris arrived and was very professional. He changed out the broken spring and replaced the other spring as well. The total charge for a last minute call was the same as if i pre scheduled the call, only $190. Which is awesome because there are other companiea in town chargibg an arm and a leg to do the same thing. This company went above and beyond to take care of my garage isaues. Made an appointment for them to come out on February 7, Monday, and the tech came out. He told my adult child the motor was "dead" and muttered something about a $750 repair. I had told the office that the homeowner from whom we rent wanted it fixed, would be easily available by phone, and to please check the other garage door, just as a maintenance concern. The guy left. I was out of town on business. He never called the homeowner and seriously disappeared. On Thursday, 4 days later, the manager (who actually had been a helpful guy once in the past) said he didn't know anything about it. The tech is out sick (if he had Covid that would be helpful to know from an exposure standpoint for those home that day. He said he would call the homeowner. He didn't. So today I called A1 Garage door service. They were delightful on the phone and were excited to help. They will come Monday. They even had a survey at the end of the call to ensure good service. No more D&D for me, and I will share that negative experience with many others for a long time. read more

I cannot say enough about the service provided by Jason and Colton. I heard a loud bang in my garage and upon further inspection found that the spring in my garage door had broken. I immediately called D&D Overhead Door, as they are located nearby, and spoke to Jason. Within 2 hours of my initial call, Colton arrived, followed the proper Covid 19 protocols and repaired my garage door in an hour. Wonderful door company. The person I spoke with on the phone was so eager to help, trouble shoot and save time and costs. I was given an email to transmit photos so they could be shared with a tech. The end result is that they could do what I wanted because of structural constraints. Still, I had them come out to lube and check the garage door out. In the end, the super friendly tech made some adjustments and I could now get my SUV into the garage [very tight opening/low ceiling]. This is a great company. Had a garage door sticking halfway up. They arrived right on time and made an adjustment to the pulley but said it might also be a motherboard issue. They didn't recommend changing it and spending additional money until we were sure the pulley adjustment didn't solve the problem. They told me to call them right a way if it continued to stick. An hour later, door stuck open again. I called them and they returned within 20 minutes and promptly replaced the motherboard with no additional service charge except for the part. Awesome service and a fair price. They even called me back later in the afternoon to make sure everything was working correctly. Highly recommended!!!!! read more

My husband and I rent a house in Truckee, Ca . The owner purchased a garage door from D and D Doors 6 months ago. A few weeks ago when closing door it came down with such force hit the back of my car and just buckled two or three of the panels on its own before going back up. We have called them numerous times and they will not return our calls or send anyone out to look at the damage. They even suggested that it was our fault! We have had to call a local company now and we are having to pay $700 to repair the garage door. I do not recommend this company. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We are now dealing with Truckee Overhead Door who has exceptional customer service, they even sent out a technician the same day we called. read more

A very good company that I would highly recommend and here's why. In November of 2017, my wife was opening the garage door in the morning and noticed after rising only a few inches that it abrutly stopped. She called me and I noticed that the torque spring had snapped causing the top panel of the door to buckle from the weight of the door. Due to the damage, we needed to replace the garage door which was installed in 2005. We contacted the initial installer, D&D Overhead Door Co., for some recommendations. We wanted the same door but were informed by D&D,which we confirmed, that the manufacturer was no longer manufacturing our door or any replacement parts. We met with Mike R. of D&D to order a new door. The new door was installed but was noisier than expected at no fault of the installer or the installation. We contacted Mike about the situation. He sent a couple of D&D reps to look at the door. They took several actions to quite the door but to no avail. Without hesitation, Mike said that D&D would make it right to our satisfaction. They ordered us and installed a new door at no cost to us. We can't say enough about the professionalism of Mike R and the expertise of installers Mike and Greg. D & D came out on a holiday and spent 30 minutes getting my heavily damaged garage door to come down. I had an estimate for its replacement the next morning. They showed up on time, replaced the door, even used an undamaged support from the old door to make the new door stronger, performed a little maintenance on the opener, and the bill was exactly what was quoted. Called a well known company 2 weeks ago and talked to them directly. They said they would call me back but wanted another $100 to travel 20 miles to my house, I said ok but haven't heard beach from them. I called D&D overhead and Jason had his guy come out in 2 days. Colton repaired my garaged door, reset my code, inspected everything for the price Jason quoted me. Did a complete inspection and lube job lol.
