Little did I know I missed the HQ location while I was in Houston, I know now to not miss it again. I drove down some back roads to get here, and found this huge store in a big box shopping center. I was looking at American Vodka and then I turned around to look at the opposite shelf and I almost fainted, this location had my favorite vodka from Russia, Khortyska!! I've been trying to get this sent to me for years. I spent some time in Ukraine before their last revolution back in 2011 and a guy that worked for me told me not to bother with Nemiroff and instead get Khortyska coming from a real bad ass Russian programmer, he was right. This place had all the brands of booze I couldn't find in Louisiana. I got some top shelf Rebecca's Creek, a bottle of Balcones Whiskey from Texas and my bottle of Khortyska. Sadly my wife consumed it thinking I got it for her. Which means only one thing. I'll need to make another road trip to buy some more. The staff here was really helpful, guided me to what I needed and there were some other Whiskey connoisseurs in the isle where I was that we chatted it up for a bit before I had to leave. On my way to the check out I grabbed some of the small single serve bottles to put on my desk at work to remind me where I need to go at my next earliest convenience.

She was a different nationality with an accent. I don't believe she took my constructive criticism well.. It was an alcoholic product that went by the name of V something. She had a red bottle of it and a purple. We both got a shot of the red V- and it was nasty! To me, it tasted like cherry cough syrup medicine mixed with too strong of an alcohol plus it was warm not cold. Even though, the sampler had the drinks on ice. It probably was fake ice come think of it. The vibe of the liquor store was dead when we first stepped in with a whole long line from the counter to the back. Then a lady came in waay too throwed and buzzed. She was bubbly, all smiles speaking to everybody. Looks as if she had be drinking all day. She even spoke to the elderly man buying vodka for a bunch party goers. Real cool! The cashier lady was also very friendly. She is a older mexican woman. She also had switched her mouth to smile mode. She was speaking to everyone who came in and who was in line waiting. The whole atmosphere was laid back. The shelves were nicely stocked with signs of what it was and where it came from. I saw a few sick shaped bottles. I saw one shaped as a skull and AK-47. All of the vodkas are located straight back from the checkout counter-mostly the whole wall. They also have miniature bottles of alcoholic beverages near the cashier. And if you taste test the only way you can get a t-shirt is to buy a bottle. The store front has a weird theme: a Chihuahua in space or "high" with a name of UFO. Makes one wonder.. lol. Might be back since it's right next door to a vape shop.

My boyfriend and I where headed to the beach and always stop here at this liquor store normally…read morethey are super nice people and are very helpful ... well not today I guess they just had a bad day or somthing because my bf and I went in there got a few different things to drink and I saw this cute Chinese's fan and it's only $5 so I got it I got to choose between three and I told him the pink one but I got the red one and just didn't say anything after about an hour of looking at it I really wanted the pink one I had not taken the tag off at all or messed with it in anyways so I went back and tried to exchange it because it's not alcohol and it's definitely just somthing they buy hole sale and sell on the side so I thought you know no big deal well after asking the two men working there lied to me and said it's a TABC (Texas alcoholic beverage commission) law and he couldn't do it I was like no this is not the Texas "Chinese fan and wholesale products commission" but still this little old man threw a fit and wouldn't let me exchange it then I asked the manager he also lied and said it's a law it's not lol they definitely took me for some dumb girl I don't know why they made such a hassle over a little fan even my bf came in and talked to them and they still said no and acted out. Dont go here if your younger they'll lie to you and take your money if they can charge you extra they will ...

Their location is a little tricky if you are not familiar with this location. On the side strip where their signage is is misleading trying to locate the place. I almost did not find it. I drove the entire strip based on where their sign is located. I almost gave up on locating the store. Then my intuition said(go around to the other side of the building and lo and behold there it sits. On the backside of the shopping strip, several feet away from their signage. That is my only strike. Back to the inside of Spec's. It is a busy location; they were well staffed to assist customers, especially for a first timer as myself. I went in with intentions to buy Tellamore D.E.W. with honey. A friend shared some with me and I liked it. It has a cute Irish Wolfhound on the label. The label is yellow and stands out. The taste is very smooth. I asked Devin, an associate, where may I find it and he happily directed me to it. We were talking and he mentioned another brand that is way more favorable with liqueur honey. So what did I do? I went with the brand he suggested. The Whistler, Irish whiskey and honey. It was also on sale, even better. As a matter of fact let me open it now to give my feedback on the taste and if it is smooth. BRB My verdic is in! The honey liqueur flavor love it, but it is not smooth. It has a slight burning effect. I will save this bottle to share, but will go to Spec's on my side of town for Tullamore D.E.W.
