We found Bill through rave reviews from friends and when we finally got the courage to call our lives changed. His therapy is top notch EMDR, but probably as importantly, his demeanor is comforting. His faith in the process is unmatched and really rubs off on his patients. We call him with our biggest hurts and he never bats an eye. We are so thankful for Bill and are so happy to finally be HAPPY.

We need a lot of help, the lot of us. We need help admitting when we're wrong, and taking credit when we're right. We could do a whole lot better with friendships, with other guys, being honest, speaking up, bleeding a little, opening our hard, heavy hearts. Yeah, we could do a lot more of that, and we could do it for our spouses and our kids and our parents, if we're lucky enough to have dads who know how to listen. We're a really messy subspecies, we've been raised to shoulder it, carry it and bury it, and that stuff really ends up making a mess of the world, particularly when we try to govern it. I found Bill when I really, really needed to open up, and I didn't know who to talk to. He's an Old Soul, you know how people say that? He is. He's probably on his fourth or fifth ride through this life, the kind of shrink you see in movies, the ones that don't actually exist. I say this because he really has worked with the gamut: suicidal veterans, violent parents, the worst behavioral and substance addicts, horribly traumatized teenagers. And that's how he connects with you, he tells his stories, and they're good, the stories either brighten the room or Thud with a resonance or universal theme that reminds you, hey, everybody hurts. Keep working, keep digging. He got me to open up with EDMR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a methodology that felt particularly in tune with my personal processing speed -- I'm someone who isn't interested in wandering the edges, I want to get at the source, quick. I saw Bill for the better part of five months. When we began, he said to me "When we're done, we're going to know that we're done, and that's when we'll stop." My last session, I looked up at him and said, "I think we're done, Bill," and he nodded, shook my hand and said goodbye. If you're reading this review and you're a guy who could use someone to talk to, or you know a guy who could use some help, please, call Bill Jacobs. He doesn't mess around, and he's making the world just a teeny bit better everyday.

This place is sent from the gods and amazing. Don't believe any of the hater reviews (those come…read morewith emotionally unhappy people). I was locked in a heroin addiction with really no options. They got me Medicaid on the spot and took me into triage that same night. I spent 5 days detoxing and ended up staying for the program a full 21 days on C wing. The nurses are caring, beautiful, smart and definitely under appreciated to some people I see here. They are all each one wonderful personalities and interesting. The two docs come every morning and the food is x2 (lol) super bomb. Rooms are clean and there is a view of the mountains. There was a nurse who was very important to me and motivated me to go to a wrap up group one night when I was still sore and sick feeling and within days, once I felt better, I was elected to run the morning goal meeting and night time wrap up groups. Which I took very seriously. She gave me the positive energy to channel the program and complete it. Brown skin, long hair, a boss of an RN for such a small gymnast built of a woman. She inspired me... I won't mention names on here besides my own. I'm just that way. Secretive selective Scorpio lol. Anyway Along this journey I formed many friendships and even got a Lemurian Seed Crystal from my rock ceremony when you leave from an ancient healing medicine man aka buddha in blue. I could go on and on about the wonderful people and the arts crafts events jeopardy trivia games protein shakes amd meditation groups. But I think you get my drift. These people are amazing with that Tahoe vibe. I'm very thankful to this place. I have been on this earth thousands of years and was an ancient scribe in predynastic times. As an ancient x3 reincarnated 38 year old Polymath dreamwalker I approve this place. If you need help seek it now. And I leave you with a Rumi quote. "You've seen my descent, now watch my rising" Now a moment of silence for the suffering addicts out there now. Ancient Scribe Justin L

On my first visit with the CTBH outpatient therapist, she spent the majority our session with her…read moreback to me firing off formulaic questions and entering my answers into a computer. My attempts to get her to interact with me on a more personal level were thwarted. I left feeling alienated and unseen. When I subsequently complained to CTBH, I was told that I "should have expected" this, since the first session is an assessment, not therapy. (They did not mention this when I made the appointment). They also claimed that "all mental health providers do this." I've been through enough counseling over the years to know that it is not normal for a therapist to treat you as if you are not human. I don't doubt that other counselors I've seen did an assessment, however they did it WHILE doing therapy, not INSTEAD OF therapy. I believe it is possible to do both. The charge for this "assessment" visit was almost $700, which insurance refuses to pay even though the facility is in-network. The CTBH billing dept has been completely unhelpful even while admitting that they have a known ongoing issue with their State of NV insurance contract. They have referred the issue to "billing review" which I was initially told would take two weeks. When I checked back after that time, I was rudely informed that they hadn't gotten to it yet, and there was "no timeline" for how long it might take. The appointment was over five months ago and this unresolved bill hanging over my head is just causing me more stress and adding to my mental health burden. At this point, I feel disappointed and discouraged from seeking any therapy at all.
