Absolutely no help, care or compassion. I've been with this pharmacy for 3 years and after getting a pain medication prescription, they would "order" the meds to fill only to say, "whoops, never got it in," for 4 weeks straight. I told them my prescription was from the 5th the month prior, and they continued to string me along until the prescription was no longer valid/expired so that I had to go through the whole rigamarole again with another prescription after a month of suffering. This is the most incompetent pharmacy I've ever seen. On one visit, my doctor called in a prescription. Five hours later it still wasn't ready. On my next visit my doctor called a prescription in to a different CVS then called to transfer it here. There hours later the person at te pickup counter can't help because they claim the prescription was never called in then directed me to the person there feet away to help. read more

I tried to get my order and the idiot in the pharmacy couldn't even look me in the eyes when he was talking and his responses were half assed as he talked down to me repeatedly reiterating how it's a very "busy" pharmacy. I do not recommend this pharmacy and will not come here again. I came here to get the Pylera pill and an acid blocker (both from prescriptions). Wallgreens next door told me that the Pylera pills need to be shipped so it will arrive the next day, which is why I came to CVS to try my luck. The pharmacists at CVS did not mention that the drug will come the next day. So when I came during lunch time to pick up the drugs, they only gave me the acid blocker, and on the label it says "do not take with Pylera". I was like but the doctor said you have to take it together, and where is my Pylera??? She had to go ask another pharmacist and said oh ok, if the doctor said you can take it together than you can take it. She seemed to not even know that I had another prescription and only because I insisted that I had Pylera did she realize that the Pylera will not arrive till the next day. Also, as a pharmacist, they should be aware that Pylera is always taken together with Omeprazole so I'm not sure how competent the pharmacists are here... So the next day I called them and they said that I will receive a text alert when the drug is ready in the afternoon. Long and behold I never received the text so I went home to Manhattan (I came all the way to Hoboken just so I could pick up the drugs when I always work from Manhattan on Fridays). Finally I called the pharmacy at 11pm and they said oh yes the drug is here sorry we didn't send you a text message (WTF?). Now it's Monday and I came to pick up the drug. As the Pylera has a complicated routine with Omeprazole I asked the pharmacist how to take it together. She had no idea. She tried to look at the label and said it didn't say anything specific. I basically just read the label myself and checked online to figure out how to take the drug. I will never come here again. read more

This place really can through In the clutch. They are open 24/7 including their pharmacy department which is open for new scripts not just pickup. My wife experienced some post surgical infection and was urgent need of antibiotics. Her dr called them in here at 10 pm on a Sunday and I was able to get them by 11. Other than that, it's a pretty standard issue CVS full of the usual items. read more

They have everything you could want/need, but it's soooo damn expensive. Be careful with purchasing dairy supplies there, their fridge in the back is never at a proper temp. This should be used as a last resort if you cannot find an open supermarket. read more

I am, I admit, a CVS geek the way some people like The Walking Dead. Once I moved to Hoboken and started going here, I became loyal. I know that it is supremely geeky that I get worked up over a drug store. I use the minute clinic to get my flu vaccine every year, and every other part of the store. I get abnormally excited when I use my CVS loyalty card and the machine shoots out a Las Vegas style windfall of coupons and free money called "extra bucks". This store has the nicest staff and that has never changed. I especially love David as he helped me out when I was a clueless new mother with a newborn well over a decade ago, and he's always there when I need help. This store never feels like part of a giant chain. It has that intimate neighborhood feel and there's always a fun amount of town chit chat going on because the staff really works hard to be personable. read more

The pharmacy needs a crash course in customer service. I wanted to call in a prescription from another location, and I had to call twice before speaking to a representative. My first call I was on hold for twenty minutes - no one picked up at any point to indicate how long the wait time was or if I should call back at a different time. When I was finally able to speak to someone, I asked if it would be possible to fill my script that day (I called it in at noon). She just responded "We'll text you when it's ready" and hung up. It wasn't ready until a day later - would have been better to just be clear about this upfront. read more

I like this CVS for its convenient location. 9 out of 10 Hoboken residents must walk by here everyday. There are plenty of products and ample floor space. It's open 24 hours which is great! The shelves are well stocked. My favorite is their self checkout machines. read more

24/7 is a pretty big bonus. I've picked up prescriptions at 4:30am after a night at Comedy Cellar. The self check outs are pretty quick which is a bonus. The homeless folks attempting to get money outside, not so much. read more

So far, the pharmacy and the store have been great. A prescription was written incorrectly, the doctor's office delayed taking care of it, and the woman I called at CVS offered to call the doctor's office to have him change it. I had never had that happen before and was impressed that she took the initiative to do that. Another time, a prescription for my partner was called in to the wrong CVS, and this CVS called them and asked them to fax it over. All of the pharmacy crews have been friendly and professional. The up front check out people are attentive and courteous. I like this drug store and would recommend it to anyone. read more

Overall I feel they have a very efficient pharmacy, but was not happy in the least when a pharmacist there told me a prescription of mine could not be transferred from another pharmacy. I had to drive 2 hours to my old pharmacy where I found out it was completely legal and fine to have transferred the prescription. Last time I go to that CVS pharmacy!!!! read more

I came here in a panic as my doctor forgot to refill my medicine, and the pharmacy gave me 3 nights worth of medicine to hold me off for the weekend - for free! I literally started tearing up in happiness. This small gesture helped ease so much more than my anxiety. She had a terrible attitude, seemed bitter, and looked like she was just dumped because that would only explain her terrible behavior. The worst pharmacy I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They're slow, they're miserable, they have absolutely no knowledge of the drugs they're doling out, and they are LAZY. As other commenters have mentioned, they won't fill a prescription until you're literally standing there in front of them begging. The store is great, but the pharmacy employees need a serious attitude adjustment. Why is it so hard to be pleasant and nice? I've also waited there FOREVER for a prescription only to find out it's been ready for 20 minutes. Now I just stand there and try to eagle eye each prescription as it's completed. And they never announce names. It's infuriating, especially when you're not feeling well. I'm going to start filling my prescriptions at Target. I have never written a review about anything in my life, but I'm so frustrated with this CVS that I have to write something. Every time I have gotten a prescription filled here its been a terrible experience - every time for the last 5 months. Tonight they had me wait an hour for a prescription to be filled only to find out, after asking, that the prescription had been filled the entire time I was waiting. They are completely understaffed and the people they have working the front are very inexperienced. Not 1 time in the last five months has the process been even remotely painless. I am moving out of town, but would otherwise definitely find another place to go. read more

This is by far the WORST CVS that I've ever encountered. My colleague and I decided to stop by this location last night in order to shop for some hair care products. A woman with shiny silver hair walked by us a number of times and I noticed her staring at us but not really doing anything. She didn't even ask if we needed help or anything. She just kept "casually" strolling black and forth... Ooops I meant back and forth! I mentioned this strange occurrence to my colleague and I'm pretty sure silver lady heard us because right after she asked if we "needed help" with anything in a very condescending tone and no smile. I politely declined. We proceeded to shop and as we were walking down the aisle, another employee rushed towards us then quickly turned around and mentioned to her co-worker that she thought we were heading out the door with their products! I was in total shock and hurt to be receiving this type of treatment when I've done absolutely nothing to warrant this type of behavior. This is a classic case of shopping while black. Whoever the GM is... I'd suggest speaking with your associates before your branch catches a case. read more

Since the CVS corporation decided to increase its profits by cutting staff and having customers do "Self Checkout" the experience is hit or miss. HIT = handful of items, get in get out. MISS = coupons, more items than can be held in the bagging area or anything that requires assistance...as half the time there is no staff member there to help you. More than once I have stood there waiting more than a minute or two. I've waved my arms...I've said loudly "Anyone working the front today!" Like today...at 11am on a Saturday morning. I feel compelled to write this review even though it was not my personal experience. After my shopping I approached the check out line. There was one person in line with a lot stuff. However, the lines were closed and they were only offering self check out. I hate self check out. It is the biggest pain in the but and frustrates me every time I have to use it. The person that was in line was waiting for them open a line I guess. While I stood in line at self check out I realized she had been there quite sometime. As I started my self check out she was starting to drop stuff and you could tell she was just really giving out from holding so much stuff. She finally came over to the lady that was monitoring the self check out and politely asked when they were gonna open the line. The low life heathen instantly got rude with her. Saying in a very demeaning voice cant you see I am talking to someone. Then as the lady was walking away the heathen proceeded to make remarks out loud such as the nerve of some people, how rude....ETC. I was so taken back from this ongoing interchange it just made me want to leave all my goods there and walk out. You really need to get your employees attitude in check. No one wants to use your self check out as an only option. I have been stopping at few of the local grocers around there picking up some of the items I usually buy from you. Mainly because I don't get pushed off to your self check out. If I am forced to do your employees job then you give me a discount for doing it myself. read more

This is my go-to CVS since I started working in Hoboken. Every location in JC is just too out of the way. As CVS's go, it's not too shabby. It's usually pretty well stocked and clean. It has like 8 self-check registers (which is my all -time favorite thing about it). The only issue with that is that I like to use the self-check to get in and out quickly but I also like to use coupons and extra care bucks, which means I have to wait for an employee to come over when I use them. They're usually pretty quick about it about it, but it's just slightly annoying. Not their fault. The employees are nice and helpful. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that there's always a homeless person or 2 hanging around the door. It gets uncomfortable. read more
