Gas here is more than just a little cheaper than in Louisville and right off the major highway (I65). They have the usual selection of road trip and convenience store fare. All we really needed and wanted was a gas fill up and something cold to drink after 4 hours of hiking. This BP was conveniently located, and fulfilled our needs.

This one gazes up as if looking at the tree growing out of the courthouse building in Greensburg. We stopped for self serve gas and a pic of the Dino. Gas was local market price. There is a convenience store with most things you'd expect from a convenience store. There were drinks, lottery tickets, snacks, etc. We could not get the clerk to smile despite trying. He was just not having a good day. But I think I saw a grin on Dino as we left.

A tornado is made up of beef and melted cheese and etc. I got a couple of them and they were surprisingly good. It kept me from getting hungry for a little while. I called them on the phone to ask for their hours and also to mainly see what they have to eat. I wanted to try something different than a fast food restaurant and this was a good choice. On scene: I girl who waited on me was friendly. I think she was new because someone else was helping her out about prices and so forth. Anyway, I got checked out quickly because there was no line and I was on my way.

I have passed by this old Convenient Food Mart store many times but finally made this stop after a recommendation by a close friend who is a big "foodie!" I knew a Meatloaf sandwich was going to be on the list so I went directly to the counter to pick one up, I also picked up a country ham sandwich and bottled water to eat in the front seat of my truck (there were no open seats available inside due to the local crowd occupying all the tables and seating), they were very busy. There was plenty of help, everybody was very helpful and friendly. The steam table had plenty of options for lunch or you can choose to have a deli sandwich made but the Meatloaf is piled high in a bun and it packs all the flavor you expect from a farmhouse kitchen table! I will be back soon and make this a regular lunch stop to try some of there other menu items when I am working in Shelbyville again!
