Towels aren't provided but need to pay and put down a deposit of 10 euros which we get back when we return the towels. My friends and I booked a ten bed co-Ed room with 5 bunks, shared bathroom with toilet, shower, and heated rack. Everyone has a locker to store our stuff without locks but you can use your own lock. When we walked in, a cleaning person was remaking the beds with fresh sheets and cleaned the bathroom. Free wifi with same user and password. Love the decor, clean, tidy, and great location, close to the train. All you can eat breakfast for 8euros. Laundry machines on site. Cons: * Rooms are super hot and no fans so it was hard to sleep in the summer * The bunk beds and lockers are made of metal so any little movement makes a lot of noise * there's not a lot of room on the bottom bunk to sit up or hang any towels or clothes to dry * The shower doors didn't seal all the way so the bathroom floors got super wet whenever I showered * blow dryer is not provided

I debated writing this review, but I think I should. I would have given a good review except my…read moresecond morning I saw bed bugs when I woke up. Here is the review I would have written: As it seems to be a converted hotel, the place is pretty nice. The room that I was in was a moderately large hotel room with three bunk beds. The rooms are as expected bare but good. The room has a bathroom with a shower, a communal closet, and storage for each bed. The bathrooms are nice and well kept. The place overall tries to be hip and young. The lobby has couches and a bar that always seems half closed, but there is seating. There are places to work and a few computers to use. The basement has the cafeteria for breakfast. Overall I am happy with the place; it is nice, reasonably priced, and Now to the post bed bugs review. When I showed the person at the desk an image of the bed bugs he barely reacted and simply had a look of exasperation. He apologized and gave me a one night refund. He said they would decontaminate the room. From the way, he reacted it seemed like this was quite common. My bigger problem is how it affected the rest of my day. I understand that operating or staying at a hostel means bed bugs are a real possibility. After leaving, I had to spend a few hours of my day to make sure all of my stuff was clean so I didn't take it back home. I would have appreciated a bit more help to prevent spreading them. He offered to let me put my belongings in a common storage room so I could go to the store for some bed bug control; I passed for a number of reasons. For those that are unaware, nearly everything is closed on Sundays in Munich. Because of a number of complications, I ended up spending three hours in a laundromat. To be honest, I am not that mad about the bed bugs. What aggravated me was the ripple effect that had on my last day Munich. If they have this problem that often, keeps some spray on hand for guests to use so a bad day doesn't get worse. I think there is a lot more they could do to prevent this.

I complained immediately at 3am in the morning and the staff were highly unhelpful and made me write out a written complaint which they said they would respond to. The next day I spoke to many others on other floors who said they also had bugs. They are fully aware of the problem but they still check in new guests daily. I complained again the next day and heard many others do the same thing. They will act like its a new problem and that you could have even been the one who brought them in. They said this to so many people that it is clear that they are the problem. I checked out two days early but had already paid my full accommodation. They said I should get a full refund and they gave me an email address to contact. I have since contacted the email twice with no response or apology. I would have left a better review had they responded in a timely manner but they refuse to even communicate with me. Their business is only surviving because they continue to check people in to a bed bug infested environment and then they don't give them their refunds which they are entitled to! Let's just say I would rather pay to not stay here! It's the worst place I have ever stayed at and the feeling of having bugs crawl all over my skin at night will never escape me!

I absolutely LOVED our 2 night stay at Buddy Hotel. This hotel is just positively perfect in so many ways. The bed is so comfortable. There is so much natural light in the room. I loved the vegan hand soap. There are hooks on the wall for your jackets. The room also had a hairdryer. The shower had a handheld wand and a waterfall option The room has a Kurig style coffee maker with pods in the room as well as breakfast tea pods. If you need more or cups just go to the lobby. Check in/out was a breeze with friendly/helpful staff. I did not hear any noise from other guests. The windows can be fully opened or pulled out to enjoy some fresh air. Housekeeping is not a daily thing but you can go to the front desk and ask for towels. I felt that the room was very clean and was comfortable. Buddy Hotel is perfectly located to shops, restaurants and the day tour buses. I would look at booking here when I come back over any other hotels. I love unique, fun hotels when I am in Europe. I have never been on a cruise ship but I would imagine this is what a room might be like. BONUS in the morning there are free snacks in the lobby. This is first come, first serve. Pastries and pretzel.

If you are planning on being out all day then you don't need much else. We were on the second floor so yes there was road noise but it was not that bad, especially for a Friday night. The air conditioning gets COLD so if you are someone who needs a freezing room to sleep, this place fits the bill. The curtains/shutters block out 100% of the light so if you need a midday nap, it's definitely doable. The parking garage is pretty tight if you have a larger car but it's doable. For only €22 the parking is well worth it. Overall good experience. Cold rooms and hot showers

CONS: I'll start off by saying that, yes, as others have…read morenoted, the front desk staff is less-than great. That's what knocked it down to 4 stars for me. And, other cheaper hostels I've been to have provided free breakfast so the hefty €7.90 for breakfast here wasn't a high point. (We never did get the breakfast so I can't tell you whether it's good or not) Laundry also seemed expensive at €3 to wash and 2.50 to dry. I ended up washing my things in the sink. The elevator is small. PROS: Over all, despite the cons listed above, this was one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. First and foremost, it was really CLEAN which is so important to me. It had lockable drawers under the bed (provide your own lock) so that was very useful. In our particular room, we had a separate tiny shower room apart from the toilet / sink room which made getting ready in the morning with 4 of us a lot easier as someone could be in the shower while another was doing whatever in the other bathroom. Use the photo booth for €2 in the lobby area for a cute souvenir. Easy / short walk from the Hackerbrücke station and not a bad walk at all from the Haupbahnhoff main station. (With your luggage you'll want to get off at Hackerbrücke but without luggage it's a nice walk to the main station where you'll find a bunch of yummy breakfast choices.)

It's not too far of a walk from the main train station, but it's just far enough if you have a lot of luggage. They have their own bar, and game room, and televisions downstairs. Checkin went pretty smoothly, and the staff speak great English! We stayed in the cheapest Hostel rooms, 6-8 bunks with lockers, and they'll loan you a lock if you need it. This room had its own bathroom, which is better than dorm style restrooms for the whole floor, which they also had. Our bunkmates were a little rowdy one night and came back drunk, but I can't fault the place on that one. There are also family rooms, and single or double rooms with private bathrooms if thats more you style, and you prefer the more Hotel like feel. The building itself was really quite to both outside noise and from room to room. It had plenty of places to just hang out or get quiet time if you needed it as well. They only had wi-fi in the lobby are though, and they have computers you can use for a small fee per minute or per hour. They also rent bicycles, if you need, andhave transportation nearby going every direction. Just ask for help if you're unsure. There is also a GREAT free tour that starts in the area. I recommend doing that first to get the low down of the area. It's way helpful!

Where do I even begin?…read more I guess I should start with some backstory. I booked a cheap flight to London back in the summer and then decided I'd just give myself a long layover and leave for Munich the next day. I'd been to London before, and in theory, after a 10.5 hour Flight (and I'm a heavy and easy plane sleeper), I could knock out the city and just head straight back to Gatwick to get my Flight to Munich the next morning, no hostel required. This is where I failed miserably: I didn't factor in the possibility that even though I'd stayed awake for the 36 hours prior to my flight, I might not actually be able to sleep on it. And I didn't. And I walked around London for 5 hours/roughly 14 miles/about 6 coffees. By the time I'd made it back to the airport, I couldn't even recollect the last time I slept, nor could I remember simple things like shoes need to be tied or hey I probably shouldn't leave my passport on some random counter. Suffice to say I needed to sleep immediately. I was meant to stay with a friend of a friend, but I couldn't be around people. I was getting to a point of planning the destruction of all mankind I was so tired. So I decided to book a hotel last minute. Found this one on Hotels.com for a reasonable price and jumped at it. Then I remembered. Most hotels don't allow for check in until 1 at the earliest, and this was no exception. Insert expletive here. I emailed the hotel just to see and I was shocked at the response. The manager (currently out of country celebrating Christmas with her family) set me up early so I could get some much needed sleep AND then checked up on me to make sure I'd gotten in and gotten some rest, not to mention sent some travel suggestions. Then I decided this place was awesome (see below for reasoning), so I asked to stay another night. They were shutting down for the holidays so there was no one in the office to take my money. They let me drop my € in the box to stay the next night before I jumped a train to Hallstatt. I was in shock. My Christmas angels, no doubt! As for the place itself, it's not a typical hotel--rooms are smaller and the toilet/shower is shared with the floor. Other than that, it was everything I needed. A comfortable bed, WiFi, sink in the room, access to a microwave and kettle, and hot water in the shower. It was literally everything I want whenever I travel (as I'm beginning to outgrow the 10-bed dorm hostel scene). The place was crazy clean and had obviously recently been updated. It was cold outside, but I was completely comfortable indoors. It's located in a safe neighborhood with easy walking or train access to the city (city center is a 20 minute walk). I have to thank the staff again for such an epic response. I was blown away by their kindness.
