I went here for the Magic of Lights with my nieces and my mom. It was great that it was $27 per car to drive through the light displays (if you purchased online). It was $35 on site. I have been to some light drive thru displays where it charged per person in the car which is quite ridiculous. Upon entry into the fairgrounds, there were two lines that eventually merged but kept the ticket scanning at a decent pace. One thing that wasn't the best was that as soon as you entered, the pavement was horrific. Almost too bad for a lower sitting car. If we had went any faster, the bottom of the car would be ruined. Also, the music on their radio station could've had more upbeat music for the children. Lastly, you are able to stop at a holiday village which has snacks, a synthetic ice rink, Santa photo area and more! If you live in the area, this is definitely worth a stop. But it isn't worth a drive to go there. read more

We came here for the Magic of Lights show a few weeks ago. The fairgrounds are very easy to find via GPS. The path was wide enough for all vehicles and it was an easy path to follow. The light display was beautiful with a lot to look at. The staff that we interacted with were very helpful and kind. I've never been to a county fair so I can't speak on that, but the light show is definitely something to check out to get you in the holiday spirit. read more

My family attended the Magic of Lights at the fairgrounds for the holidays. It was definitely a fun time. I really enjoyed these holiday lights. We saw lights a couple weeks ago at a different fairground and we agreed that we enjoyed these much better. I like that it is only one cost per vehicle. When I purchased our ticket, there was a price for paying we the gate, and it was a bit cheaper to order online in advance. The day we decided to go, they announced that they put a stop to gate sales due to the high volume of traffic. They weren't even selling anymore online tickets on that day. When you purchase your ticket online, it is good for any day you choose to go. The event seemed very organized. We chose to get there right around when it started at 5:30 to avoid waiting in long lines of traffic. I would definitely enjoy attending this again next year. read more

Great venue for a Rib Fest!! Great music. Perfect weather. Free parking and just $5 each to get in. Under 12 free. Lines appeared long because they were but they moved quickly. You could get samplers at each vendor or best value go with a crowd and a slab was only $20 then share!! Each slab had about 13 ribs or pay $8 for three ribs. read more

We come every year since we live so close. Not much changes from yr to yr but now our daughter joins in the Junior Fair with her submissions to be judged. So her second year & she cleaned up with 51 ribbons & lotsa cash prizes. We wish there were more entries in the contest barns. This yr we discovered the renewable energy bldg w/ cool exhibits & it's gallery of paintings. We don't love the crazy food prices so we don't even eat at the fair anymore. They could add some new exhibits to the nature barn. Street performers were great. We will be back next year. read more

I had a wonderful time seeing the Magic of Lights show at the fair grounds. I am so glad this was open past Christmas, so I could really take in the lights without the large crowd. This is a wonderful socially distant show, and will definitely be attending if they have it next year. The dirt road was a little bumpy at first but it smoothed out. I enjoyed the Cuyahoga County Fair...overall. The food and ride selection were what they should be. I was happy that many of the vendors have begun taking cards for payment thus keeping with the times. Definitely worth a family day. With all that said I have a few suggestions. Safety first! The ride operators more often than not did not do safety checks to make sure all children were properly strapped in. This fell on the parents that were present. My husband even had to tell one guy to stop the bumper cars because there was a little boy not strapped in. He did it promptly, but this could have easily went left. There were also some operators ignoring their rides 2 to a seat/car requirement and letting the kids ride solo. I'm sure these "little suggestions" from the manufacturer should not be ignored. Fair officials need to tighten up on monitoring these things during operating hours. A pre safety check only goes so far. It's great they offer online ticket purchase, but none of the employees could work the scanner apps on their phones to actually use these. Maybe physical scanners would work better for this crew. Lastly I would say that with wall to wall food options there should be more designated sitting areas to eat the food you've purchased. Occasional benches and two small sections are not enough for the crowd this fair draws. All the kiddos are not good at eating and walking. As a bonus suggestion, more trash cans/recycle bins. read more

I'm really not a fan of the fairgrounds. I go when there are bigger events I enjoy. 1) Rib cook off was great but it really needs a shaded seating area so we don't all burn in the sun 2) Was there for the glow in the dark 5K. It was so muddy that it felt like running through tar. I had to walk half and still kept getting leg cramps. 3) the flea market has a $3 charge, which is nominal and I wouldn't mind except that it's really dusty and the quality of goods are generally awful read more

I came here because there was a book sale event and I will always give a book sale event 5 stars. This place in particular is very large to accommodate multiple events at the same time. The only thing that I didn't like that much was that inside vendors are located in multiple barn like warehouses with no air conditioning, this makes any event kind of an ordeal in summer time when it's 90 degrees outside and inside feels like 110. Still I would come back again. read more

Well, this place....exists. Came out here for the rib cook off. The temp was crazy hot, which meant I tried to sit in the shaded area when eating. I'd like to put emphasis on the "tried". Utilized the atm while here. It wasn't what I would say is the safest. I'd recommend grabbing cash beforehand if you're coming out here. Don't take your life in your hands like I did. (Shudder). The parking is basically garbage. Where we were wasn't paved and was just on grass and such. It was just...eh. I'm not super sure I'd come back. I was really in the mood for some pigfoot and they only do the competitions, so I don't regret that. That food was ON POINT. But, yeah. read more

if you've not been to the Cuyahoga County Fair, i wouldn't let it bother you. Can't say it was all that impressive. how many people in fluorescent yellow shirts does i take to direct traffic to parking spots? there were like 9 people - one every 8 feet going down one lane. no wonder a large soda costs 5-6 bucks - gotta pay the way too large staff. i guess this is normal of most county fairs, to be fair (pun unintentional). what i found most bothersome was the lack of variety in concession vendors. sure, there were about 10 corn dog vendors - and corn dogs are great but at the Geauga County Fair there were items like sloppy joes available. nothing like that to be seen here - corn dogs and Italian sausage everywhere though. not terrible but not great. read more

Come here for lots of stuff every year. Oktoberfest, Irish Fest and the Flea Market. The ground are kinda beat and the bathrooms are gross. Plenty of parking but the prices for events are kinda steep. Come for the Flea Market and you will have the best people watching and maybe find that Ace Of Base cassette you've been looking for... read more

Visited the Fairgrounds for the first time for OktoberFest. Obviously, it's a fairground so there's not much to see in the way of scenery. It does what it needs to do with its various buildings and whatnot. My only gripe with this place is being out in the middle of nowhere. Granted, I live downtown so everywhere is pretty much nowhere but it kills me when events that serve alcohol (in OktoberFest's case they're basically pouring it down your throat) are held in places with no viable access to public transit or taxis and they basically guarantee that people are going to get DUIs. read more

We have been here last year! I love this place and exticed that's it's here again! Although my dad did not want to go to any more places in this festival i love it was a total blast! they had elephant ears with powder sugar yummm and we went on the Ferris wheel thats the only ride we rode there but i love it there we bought more tickets for more rides like those by the we got home it was 8:00pm we were worn out by the time we got home i really recommend this festival don't miss it!! read more

I love the Cuyahoga County Fair, we look forward to it every year and are so excited it is opening soon! The cool thing about it is that we can take the whole family, there is something for everyone from the Grandparents on down to the kids, so it is actually something we can do together (rare around our house!)
