It be overall aesthetic is appealing. The staff rangers from very nice, kind, and professional to absolutely trashy and rude. I don't think I've ever had a hair cut where I've felt almost unwelcome to the point of discomfort... unfortunately. The owner the last time I was there very publicly and openly berated one of the workers (a conversation that could have been had away from customers.) The owner can absolutely come off as extremely abrasive but also... I get it. It's very unfortunate because the cuts are pretty good. They barbers take their time, but the hospitality part is severely lacking. The young ladies are ho answer the phone act like you're an inconvenience, the barbers aren't welcoming at all, & again the owner comes off a bit elitist. It's very unfortunate that the two don't match. I genuinely believe the attitude of the staff and the disconnect starts at the head & it flows down. I overheard and listened to the owner (I believe) stress professionalism to his staff in the most unprofessional ways... I think he would benefit from a shop manager who has an expertise in hospitality. I personally would not patronize the business again BUT I would see some of the barbers again under different circumstances.

While she isn't quite fluent in English, she can communicate well enough and will cut your hair however you'd like. The difference between this place and other salons/barbershops is the attention to detail and time that she spends on each customer's haircut. Even with multiple customers waiting, she does not sacrifice on quality or rush through any customers like some other places I've been. I can honestly say that every time I go, I am happy with the amount of detail and time she spends on my haircut (I have a thick head of hair). Washing hair is $2 extra. Tip is not expected but appreciated. The waiting area is not big, 2 couches and a few chairs. There's a TV with antenna stations and Xfinity WiFi nearby.

What to expect if you visit- * Bobby cuts guy's hair. Discrimination is alive and well here. * Traditional haircuts are the norm here. If you're looking for something trendy you're in the wrong place. * He works by appointment. Walk-ins have little chance of success. If you have a 9:30 time you'll be in the chair at 9:30. If he's having a bad day maybe 9:31. * Shampoo and cut is currently $22. * Bobby is 150% Italian which can be great fun! He is a huge Phillies fan and goes to spring training every year. This is a great place to talk baseball. * Like me, Bobby has a lot of regular customers. Most of us make our next appointment as we are leaving. Like a lot of us I'm a busy guy. I don't want to wait in the queue at one of the chains and have someone different cut my hair every time. Bobby's is a great fit for me.

I feel confident in saying that I was his youngest customer by a country mile. He serves mostly old Delco guys. I got to a point where I just couldn't conscience Bobby's casual racism and discriminatory views anymore, which he did less and less to conceal as he became more comfortable with me as a client. Bobby is a Philadelphia sports nut. His estimation of the worth of a person of color is based on how fast they can run, or well they can throw or catch a ball. His preferred epithet for black men is "Jamal." He also doesn't feel ashamed to use the N-word: "the ni--er who dropped the ball." (That's a direct quote.) So, for me it's pretty cut and dried. I have taken my money elsewhere. Now that you know, you can decide for yourself whether to patronize Bobby or not.
