Let me start by saying I have no complaints regarding the tellers at this bank. They are always…read morecourteous and as helpful as this bank allows. My issue is with the policies and service of Citizens Bank. I have banked with them for over 20 years. Lately, I have incurred service charges on my checking account while maintaining thousands of dollars in all three accounts. These are new and refunded when I question them. Citizens closed the branch closest to me. Now I have to drive a half hour to this branch. Due to a glitch with their app, a clearly printed check from one of my clients will not scan. I therefore have drive to a branch to cash it. On a recent visit, the teller was tied up with another customer's transaction that took well over 15 minutes. A bank manager finally noticed that I had been there for quite awhile waiting to cash my check that would not scan via the mobile app. She opened an adjoining station. She made no apologies for the long wait. Citizens not only closed my branch, they removed the THREE Citizens ATM's near me. What!? Talk about adding insult to injury. This has been a trend in my area. Closing the branch was one thing, removing the ATMs so no contact could be made without a 1/2 drive is inexcusable. If your preference is SERVICE from your bank, I would look elsewhere.

Not only was i told I couldn't speak to anyone but if you…read moreneed to update anything at all on your application they have to cancel the one in process and you have to start all over again. They have someone fielding calls from their living room (you can hear the noise in the background). All she is able to do is send the loan department a message. She has supposedly sent them three messages for me and they never reached out. Not once! The requirements for approval are listed nowhere on their website. I finally was able to find a phone number and actually got someone on the phone to tell me the requirements. She still was not able to connect me with anyone but at least I got a little more information. I will never do business with this company and plan on letting the Lineman school who recommended them know just how bad they are. Go to your own bank or credit union, you will be much better off.

I have been banking with this place for over 10 years. I recently started my own business and…read morerequested a small line of credit. They denied me, stating "an exception to our 2-year income verification policy for self-employed members is not an option." This bank is not supportive of small business owners, including women-owned businesses. It appears they only support large corporations and make it impossible for new business owners to obtain a line of credit due to this inflexible policy. I was able to easily receive a line of credit through another bank, so it was not an issue of my credit. I will no longer be banking with this bank and do not recommend it to anyone.
