I took a coast guard uniform to get rank insignia sewn on and the sides tailored. She promised it for the next week and said it would cost about $20. I used to do alterations for a living and made sure to ask if she was up for the job of tailoring a uniform because they can be a bit tricky. When I went to pick it up I was told that it was $30 because it took her an hour to do. I paid and then saw that it only had one row of stitching. She told me she would add the second row. When I picked it up the second time the stitching was crooked and the rank insignias were in the wrong place on the collar. Nice store. We needed to get some yarn while we were in Astoria and didn't want to have to wait for a Portland store to open before we left town. They also carry a lot of quilting and sewing supplies and do alterations. The women who work there are very friendly. Mostly I'm posting this because it was hard to tell from the internet whether or not they still existed. The nearest evidence I could find was from 2009.
