I come here as a graduate student on campus a couple times per week. Service is always quick, and Yamhara is always friendly!

I am a commuter student, and curry up now has been me to go place to eat on campus for the last few quarters. The food is excellent, both in quality and value. Outstandingly savory. My butter chicken came in a separate plastic container filled to the brim with chunks of delicious morsels of chicken. I swapped my chili garlic naan with Doc and used hers to eat with my hands. Doc ordered a plate that consisted of four items along with a naan. We were both filled with the generous portions. I've always seen Curry Up Now pop up on the TooGoodToGo app, so I figured it was time to give it a shot. First off, their portions are very generous. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala bowl over rice, and was surprised they also included a samosa as an appetizer. Didn't realize the chicharrones were supposed to be paired with the bowl, I just snacked on them separately. No regrets though, lol. The staff was super friendly when I picked up my order. They packed everything up nicely, offered me silverware and napkins, and even gave me some water when I asked. I know it's a small gesture, but it felt nice since I wasn't a regular, just someone grabbing a discounted order from TooGoodToGo. Location-wise, it's tucked in the Price Center, and parking near that roundabout felt a little awkward, but it worked out. The food court was already closing up by the time I got there, so they were already cleaning up and didn't look chaotic like kitchens during a lunch/dinner rush. The court was pretty quiet and clean, not a lot of students around, but I was taking it to go anyway. Not the most vibrant setting, but it didn't really bother me. As for the food, it was solid. Flavorful but missing that depth I've had at other Indian spots. Still, for the price and the portion size, it's hard to complain. If I'm ever in the area again (which isn't often) and craving Indian food, I'd consider stopping by. Probably wouldn't go out of my way, but for the value, hospitality, and convenience, they earned a solid 4 stars from me. read more

Food is truly mediocre. I love indian food and I've tried to like this place which resulted in me trying maybe half the items on the menu and they're just incomparable with a real indian place. Seasonings lack depth, nothing tastes fresh but to be fair it's pretty convenient despite their mobile app also being a mess. read more

We placed an order online with pickup time 12:15 pm. It was ready at 12:40. Person on the counter was rude and said app is wrong. Whole point of ordering on app is not to wait in the line to order and pick up on the time given. Canceling the order was not an option. Was a little hard to find since it's on campus. Had never been there but i did ask a couple people for help on finding it. I tried calling the business but of course like many restaurants they are using AI to assist your call and that went no where . Once i was there the staff was very easy to talk to and let me know they would have my order ready soon. The food was delicious no problem on flavor or portions. If you are a student you couls eat there but if you arent i would think people would feel weird eating in the building since it is basicly campus area. read more

So I ordered the Punjabi by Nature burrito because I've never seen anything like that from an Indian restaurant and I LOVED IT! First of, it was HUGE! I hadn't had food for 12 hours, so you could imagine I was starving. But even then, I couldn't even finish the whole burrito! It was stuffed with lots of perfectly seasoned and cooked rice, paneer, chickpeas, onion and chicken. What surprised me the most was the amount of flavor!! so delicious. So, my wife and I were looking for a place to eat last Saturday evening before the Death Cab for Cutie concert at the new Epstein Amphitheater. Surprisingly -- especially considering it was Homecoming weekend -- most restaurants on campus were closed. So we headed over to the Price Center to see what was available. Curry Up Now had been on my radar because, (A) we love Indian food, and (B) they have lots of vegan options. We were happy to see that Curry Up Now was open -- we checked out the menu then placed our order. My wife and I both got the Hella Vegan Bowls, which were excellent. We also got a side order of two samosas. Our order was ready within five minutes or so. It turned out to be a TON of food. I finished off my bowl, but there was no way my wife could finish hers. And there was no way we could even think about eating the samosas -- we were stuffed. Took the leftovers home after the concert and enjoyed them for the next couple days. I remember enjoying this place when I tried it in the Bay Area and it did not disappoint here in La Jolla. Pros: -quick service. One of the better options for dining in Price Center, especially if you're craving curry. The first time I visited here the portions were a bit slim but since then they've amped up their game. I was a fan of Curry Up Now when I lived in the Bay area and was elated when I heard they were opening a location in San Diego. The burritos are exquisite...authentic Indian flavors in a glorious California style hand held delivery system. I'm also a big fan of their extended menu.
