    To Go Packaging

Cupcake Kitchen is a delight from the moment you walk in--the display cases are packed with cupcakes in every flavor imaginable, along with cookies, cannolis, and other treats. At $5.50 each, the cupcakes feel well worth it; they're dense, generously topped, and clearly made with care. The staff was warm and walked me through how the cases are organized by icing type--buttercream, fudge, whipped topping, and cream cheese--which made choosing so much easier. I went with the German chocolate cupcake, which was rich, fudgey, and full of coconut flavor. Looking forward to coming back and working my way through more of their lineup.

The selection of flavors is so hard to choose just a few from! I want them all every time! They're all absolutely delicious, especially the Pineapple Upside Down. The ladies behind the counter were happy and nice. And the little store is small but cute and clean. I visit here every time I'm in Chattanooga, my hometown. :)

Lots of options to serve everyone here! Their regular bakery items look amazing. In addition, there are gluten free cupcakes (vanilla and chocolate) and gluten free/vegan cupcakes. The gluten free chocolate cupcake is dairy free (contains egg). The gluten free vanilla cupcake contains dairy. Icings are also marked for which ones are gluten free and which are vegan. If you have food allergies, I recommend placing an order. We got lucky when we went that there were cupcakes leftover from a special order. We ordered the gluten free chocolate with strawberry icing and gluten free chocolate with caramel fudge icing (all dairy free also). We ordered the gluten free/vegan vanilla with cinnamon icing. The icings are SO good. We definitely preferred the chocolate cupcake (containing egg it had a better texture). The vegan cupcakes are denser as expected being egg free. Would definitely return!

Stopped in for cupcakes after dinner at Lupi's ... we got a few few things. They were good but not great. I thought the cupcake was a little dry. We still scarfed them down though. Luckily it was a nice night and we were able to sit on the porch to eat. They have a nice little sitting area there on the porch. The staff inside was pleasant but nothing special. If you need a cupcake, this is the place to go.

    Almond Raspberry cupcake ($5). DELICIOUS!

Hands down the BEST cupcakes in Chattanooga, if not in all of East Tennessee. Their cupcakes are appealing to the eyes and delicious to the taste buds. Quality and presentation are just as great, too. They offer creative flavors as well as classic flavors that are done extremely well. Cupcakes are the star of the show here, but there's also edible cookie dough, ice cream cupcakes, and confections like chocolate dipped pretzels, strawberries, oreos, truffles and more! Service was a bit pulseless the day we visited. The two workers seemed a bit preoccupied and almost slightly bothered that they had to stop packaging to help us and the handful of people who came in behind us to order. We did get a "thank you" after paying, though. Designated free parking for Cupcake Kitchen customers can be found just behind the storefront. There's only a total of 5 parking spaces currently, and you must pull in and back out directly onto the road, so parking can be a bit tight. There's an outdoor bar height table to eat at, but no seating inside. Our favorite and most recommended cupcake is definitely the Almond Raspberry ($5). Other flavors we've enjoyed and highly recommend are: Lemon Drop, Chocolate Raspberry, Key Lime Pie, and German Chocolate. Gluten-free and dairy free cupcakes are offered as well! Definitely pop on in and grab yourself a cupcake or two whenever you're in the area. Your sweet tooth will thank you!

HEAVEN!! If only this place didn't have calories! The selection is endless and it was overwhelming but so fun! I tried the strawberry which was light, flavorful, filled with strawberry filling. The presentation is mouthwatering! The staff is polite, friendly and welcoming. The space isn't huge and it is packed full of delicious options full of color and flavors!

Strolled past this little spot and decided to pop in for a GI spike. The teens split a lemon and Boston cream, while enjoyed a chocolate raspberry. Yum. The girls both agreed that both cakes were deliciously moist but lemon ruled supreme.

They have the best macaroons ever. Our favorites are the pistachio and red velvet. There is something for every one, from cupcakes, brownies, cookies, you name it. The chocolate chip cookie dough sandwiches are heavenly! This time we also got the sinful brownie, can't wait to eat it . The staff is also very kind and patient.

My sweet tooth was in need of something yummy yesterday and so stopped into Cupcake Kitchen. The shop has a variety of delicious looking cupcakes and brownies. I settled on the s'mores cupcake after speaking to the woman workers in the shop about options. The cupcake was $4.09 plus tax. I also grabbed one single cookie - I call it an Mexican wedding cookie but they had another name. It was $0.89. Honestly, the size of the cookie was tiny and not worth the price. So the cupcake... was beautifully designed but the flavors were lacking. I expected more chocolate goodness in the cake which was honestly disappointing. The bottom had a graham cracker crust like but it lacked crunch or flavor. The clerk said the icing marshmallow flavor but I couldn't taste it beyond the single marshmallow on top. If you want a pretty cupcake this is your spot but if you want a delicious tasting cupcake then find a different spot! Plus $4.09 for 1 is in my humble opinion too pricey for size and taste.

This sugar free cupcake was good. I thought it was going to taste bad because it's sugar free but it was the opposite. It was moist and tasty. I recommend this place. I'm visiting from Knoxville

I also got a Gruyère Bacon Chive Scone and a Orange Pan Suisse to take on the road. Both were outstanding. For my drink, I got one of their Blueberry Basil Matcha. I was a little nervous about the basil, but I can genuinely say it was my favorite drink of my entire trip. Lastly I want to say a special thank you to the staff. We thought we weren't going to be able to find a table, but when we found one at the last second, they actually offered to switch my meal to a skillet since they can't do those to go. Absolutely a five star experience and I am already anticipating my next visit.

When you arrive for breakfast your food is delivered in a cardboard box - which was actually gross ! You will NOT wake up to fresh coffee, orange juice or anything in the common area. You will find all areas are locked except for a very cold room with an actual church Pugh bench in the common area. Next I return to the room and the maids were outside. I asked for extra bathroom towels and was told "can only give you more towels in exchange for your dirty towels. I also asked for another blanket to sleep with and the maid states " now I have to goto the other building for that". Later that day I turned on the shower, the shower knob was stuck on all hot, and could not even take a three minute shower. The actual room had a small television in the wall, behind the television was a curtain. I moved the curtain back to find a huge hole on the wall (where and old tv was filled with dust). Our first visit was near their closing time, so there were not many items left. We did find a few we wanted to try. Our next visit was earlier in the day and the selection was significantly greater. I cannot identify everything we saw or even purchased, but I can tell you everything was quite good. The filled items had fillings like cheese, fruit, one was even ham and cheese. The others were more like sweet breads and muffins. It was very hard to limit ourselves when making our selections as everything looked so good. Tasting each item proved our eyes were good judges of flavor. Mary's Bakery is an unassuming bakery in an unassuming location that provides some excellent products. One time my parents and I came here after dinner for their gelato, and it was so delicious. We were all very impressed with the consistency and how smooth it was. So I've only had their gelato after all these years. This time I came for brunch with a friend on Sunday morning. It was packed and we got on the waiting list for a table. Wait time wasn't too bad actually. My friend and I both ordered the Hodgepodge Hash and I subbed the sausage for chicken sausage. Everything was absolutely amazing. I wish I had come here sooner. I loved everything about my meal. It was flavorful, dynamic, full of texture. It had that spice from the serrano peppers, crispy and flavorful potatoes, and the sauce tied it all together. I love savory breakfast, and that was it. Now I'm hungry and missing my previous meal just writing about it haha. Afterwards, we got gelato! I was pleasantly surprised that the gelato came with two scoops because I originally just wanted the coffee flavored one. So I had a scoop of Coffee + Cream and Pistachio. Our gelato was so tasty. I love anything coffee so this one was good, and the Pistachio one was nice and light. It had a subtle Pistachio creamy taste. Just as before, the gelato was smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and super helpful with our food preferences. I have no complaints at all about our experience, and I love every single thing we ordered. I can't imagine a better place to spend Sunday brunch. I look forward to the next time I'm back, thank you!

Mother's Days are challenging, but I think where they hurt themselves the most is that they do not have a method to take reservations or even call ahead seating. Wait times were often in excess of an hour listening to other people waiting to be seated. That's a horrible experience on its face, and the management of this restaurant needs to do much much better or just close on Mother's Day. Next, we'll get to the food. I doubt it was a shining example of what they are capable of. I got the Shakshuka and it was mediocre. I'm not expecting it to be as good as what I would get in Tel Aviv, and I've had the real thing in Tel Aviv. But to be honest, the eggs came out nearly hard-boiled not poached. And the eggs are one of the stars of the show for this dish. If you don't get them right, the entire dish fails. Next will touch on the chicken and waffles. The observation from my tablemate was that it was dry and he didn't even eat it all. The same thing can be said for my other tablemate who had the chicken biscuit. The biscuit was exemplary, but the chicken was dry and actually overcooked. Then there were the omelettes, I don't believe they were impressive in any way and the people that ordered them agree. For those of us at the table that ordered coffee, it was rather strong. I normally like strong coffee, but this was borderline Turkish coffee, and there wasn't enough cream available to mask the potency. The service was also stretched thin. Our server, Destiny, did her best, but she was waiting too many tables. Having once been a waitermyself I have a special affinity for Service staff who are asked to do too much. We left her a good tip, but I'm sure she is capable of much better service than what she was allowed to deliver. Finally, the overwhelming crowd made the restaurant feel claustrophobic. The noise level was far too high, and we could barely hear one another at our table and we were sitting very close to one another. I don't place the blame on the kitchen, staff, or the wait staff, or even the greeters. This was a fail of management, plain and simple. They made no contingency plans for that many people and should have anticipated a larger crowd on Mother's Day. Management -I challenge you to do better!!! We will come back during a normal Service day to see if you can perform better, but I encourage you, as owners and managers, to stop setting your staff up for failure, which is what you did!
