She gave me some great suggestions and I went with a 10 inch chocolate cake with buttercream chocolate frosting. I thought I needed a 10 inch because I was serving 13 people. Her cakes are four inches thick so I could have went with an eight inch lol. I let her know I needed to pick up the cake Wednesday at 5:45 PM as I needed to arrive at the venue at 6:30. I was able to pay for the cake over the phone and received a text message receipt. When I picked up the cake Wednesday it was sitting on a little table in front of the counter. I liked the contactless pick up process! Now to the cake. It was a huge hit with the birthday boy and everyone that tasted it! All my friends wanted to know where I purchased this marvellous cake. This was my first time getting cake/cupcakes from a dessert truck as before it's only been popsicles. Their menu gives lots of options and I'm pretty sure their most popular would be the build-your-own cupcake in a cup. Two layers of cake and two layers of frosting? Pretty cool. I didn't go for this option though as a menu item had already caught my eye, the Breakfast in a Cup cupcake: Blueberry cake with layers of maple buttercream frosting topped with bacon. Yup, I couldn't pass that up. I almost got two of that kind but I wanted something else so instead I went for the Chocolate Strawberry Bliss: Dark Chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream. Gaaaaah! These cup-cupcakes are super-duper moist! The Breakfast one tastes just like homemade blueberry waffles with syrup and the bacon is a perfect pairing! Lunch had been saved! Now I know they've been around for awhile and I've been avoiding them. Why? Because I'd probably eat a lot of cupcakes. At $2 a piece I would certainly try. I showed great restraint and only ordered two: key lime and strawberry shortcake. I ate my lunch from the other truck and saved the cupcakes for a later, after dinner snack. I shared the key lime cupcake with my boyfriend who said that it was ridiculously amazing. So amazing he ate it all. He's lucky I like him.
